If we start dismissing people for not meeting program expectations, there will not be enough players to field a team and there damn sure won't be anyone to coach them.
Oh, so you know what the phrase "not meeting program expectations" entails that caused his dismissal? To me it sounds like issues other than playing up to snuff created his problems and maybe he was one of the reasons Manning seems to have lost some of the team? If that is the case, isn't this a good thing?
I am thinking the same thing. This is an interesting new linguistic twist as a reason for the suspension or dismissal of a player. Traditionally in cases like this, the reason given is a "violation of team rules." We could be witnessing the birth of a new euphemism.
Kicking a player out of the program for "violating team rules" when you're short a scholarship
That is the Wellman Way. Bdzelik was a master at it.

I don't think BZ had to kick any body off the team. They were running away as fast as they could.
