There's really nothing there. If that's who we hire, then just shut the program down. What are we doing here, folks?

Lol

It’s really an amazing argument to make. Everyone should just do the DR. Pick a coach you like, or just at random, argue that he would be a huge success at Wake. The odds said coach will ever coach at Wake are astronomically small so you can continue to make this argument forever and ever with no way to be proven wrong. I’ve got Lipscomb Bison coach Casey Alexander

I feel like this could be said for 90% of the candidates that we have discussed on here. At this point, I'm fine with a Tom Crean-type, who has proven that he can recruit and win at a high major level.

I just don't want to read like 2,000,000 posts from RChildress107 and CharlotteDeac1 trying to convince me that our obviously shitty coach isn't as shitty as he could be.

Is that too much to ask? Can we just hire somebody who has a track record and who might be better than shitty?

I pimped Miller and Kelsey for Wake’s job in 2009. Y’all laughed. Then years later Pilchard, et.al. questioned whether I actually had argued for Miller and Kelsey in 2009.

We wasted a decade. How am I looking now? I offered solutions. They won. I offer them again. The haters hate but they also don’t make binding commitments with names.

In business, you make decisions and every April 15 you measure them. Who are your horses? I remain all in with Miller and Kelsey as I was a decade ago.

Casey Alexander is our only chance at success, anyone else you are wasting your time. Winners win, and losers just talk and continue to lose. This board is full of losers that can’t see what needs to be done.

The other great thing here is the backtracking on Miller. I went all in with an Elon assistant. Look at him now. Win win win. Now all of a sudden it’s “oh ok he might have a great career but DR is still an idiot.”

I hear ya. You’re welcome. Wake has been delivered one of the great coaches of our generation on a platter and we are too stupid to cash in. Whose fault is it? The people right here. Keep watching dumbassess.

Clemson’s season and BC’s improvement reall have solidified us as 15 of 15 over the postexpansion era. 15 of 15. Imagine that.

New stadium, young Coach. I offer answers. Wrangor says stay the course.

That’s a really shitty thing to say about an attorney, with no basis in fact to support it. There is a huge difference between puffing about a coach on a message board and unethical conduct in the legal profession.
The two biggest blowhards on the board naturally have each other's backs

No, no, no you've got it all wrong its Ben Jacobson from Northern Iowa. Only Ben Jacobson can turn this all around.

The concept that I have just picked Miller out a hat is silly. I’ve given many exact and specific criteria for my choice for a Coach. Miller fits them all. But I’ve supported others who fit many of the criteria.

I get why my position is so controversial. Y’all could just ignore me. But you don’t because I’m right. And it bothers you.

You do realize that Miller has spent 5 out of the last 6 years losing in a lower tier conference right? If we hired him 6 years ago he would be fired right now. If he was hired in 2009 as a 28 year old with no head coaching experience he would be fired for sure and so would Wellman.....wait a minute. DR is actually a genius! .

Your arguments and tone are completely asinine. But keep it up brother. I think there is someone on this board that is unaware of your position and your awesomeness and your money and your intellect and your hotel empire and your ability to win at everything.

I personally am just joking around for fun, and don't judge your opinion. That being said I feel Kelsey>Miller and neither is a can't miss. I'd take Kelsey over Miller though based on win percentage and experience earned before becoming a head coach.

Who knows what would have happened at Wake if they had followed my advice. UNCG did and they are quite happy. He is working on title #3. Your position that he would win the same number of games at Wake as he has at UNCG is silly.

Go find a dissatisfied biz partner of mine and then come back. I deliver winners. You deliver losing patience.

Always winning just like the initial Elrod defense.

My position on Elrod is unchanged. I’m disappointed in him. Very proud of Clawson for coming clean and answering questions. Wellman remains a coward for not telling us what actually happened.

Speaking of Elrod. That matter was closed entirely too quickly IMHO.

You finally say something of value.

All we know is what happened at UNC-G. It is reasonable to assume his results would have been similar or worse ( unless you are making the argument that coaching in the SoCon is more difficult than the ACC).

His actual coaching record at UNC-G would have gotten him fired at Wake. That is an undeniable fact. He needed UNC-G to learn the craft and if he can continue to coach well he will be ready for a big job and actually be able to keep his job.

There isn’t a high major coach in the country surviving that record. Miller is where he needs to be as he gets ready for the jump.

I’m very proud of what Miller has done at UNCG. And so is UNCG. Of course there will be a horrendous nonconference record when you are at UNCG. They have a firing squad of top 25 teams coming in to town and then they have to return the trips. You are silly to say the records would be the same. Disagree strongly with that. Miller not only survived—he thrived. He has more road conference wins the last 15 months than we do in a decade.

I see how you are already backing away though and now justifying his success. I see what you’re doing.

I agree with DR in the sense that I've always thought we should try to identify the young potential star coach - preferably with ties to the university - and try to hit the home run like Duke did with K. Would still rather do that than hire someone like Crean.
