No, this is not another bribery/corruption thread - I'm talking about our old friends from College Park.

Maryland was a founding ACC institution and member for 62 years. We’re nearing four full years since they left for the B1G. Here’s how they’ve fared in the two major sports:

Football (Fall 2014-Present)

7-6 (4-4); Foster Farms Bowl Loss
3-9 (1-7)
6-7 (3-6); Quick Lane Bowl Loss
4-8 (2-7)

Basketball (Fall 2014-Present)

28-7 (14-4); 2nd Round NCAA Loss
27-9 (12-6); Sweet 16 NCAA Loss
24-9 (12-6); 1st Round NCAA Loss
19-12 (8-10); B1G Tournament this week

Feinstein contends that The ACC is worse off without Maryland basketball than the other way around

Was the fat paycheck worth it for Maryland? How has the ACC been affected? Does anyone miss them?

I think Maryland is really good at some sports that the vast majority of sports fans don't give a shit about

not sure because I really don't give a shit

Twerps?!? Arrogant Yankee pricks whose fans were vile in hoops. At least the Krazies are creative although choreographed. May they die a slow painful death in the bowels of the big10. Thanks, that was cathartic.

I’d trade BC, Miami and Cuse for MD right now...part of our history

Loved Lefty and Gary

MD got lucky in the sense that Louisville had been a significant upgrade for the ACC up until the sanctions. Did MD ever pay the ACC the exit fee?

To my disbelief I found out yesterday than turgeon is still the coach there. I mean damn, talk about a long leash. He’s only slightly a better coach than DM.

Eh... not quite sure how you get there. In 11 years in a major conference, he has had exactly one team worse than 52nd in the country (his first season at Maryland).

WTF you talking about???

DM will never see this again in his lifetime

I feel like he’s woefully underperformed with some of those squads. Especially the year they began preseason no. 1.

The ACC could fix itself by better aligning traditional/natural rivals in the same division and quit trying to engineer the championship football game.

If you had given me 1 second to answer the question of how many years ago Maryland left the ACC, I would have said 6 or 8 years ago most likely.

I could not get through that entire Feinstein article.

I never liked MD - obnoxious fans - but I did like Lefty and Gary.
I can see how people wouldn't like Lefty, but he a great personality. Fun to watch.

Or better yet, just do away with divisions, or set up a system within the division construct like the Pac-12 has where there California schools play each other every year.

The latter probably better for us as we only have to be better than six teams to make the ACCCG as opposed to 12
