Is he fired yet?

You can keep Manning and know it will suck. You can fire Manning and let Wellman hire another coach and it may suck.

May get better is greater than will suck for sure.

Wellman could close his eyes and pick a name out of a hat and do better than he has so far, so odds are we will have a better coach if manning is fired.

This is where I’m at. I was #teamonemoreyear for a while but after the way this season has played out I’m in for firing him now. The ceiling next year is squeaking into the tournament. I’ll gladly sacrifice the best case scenario of getting stomped in a play-in game next season to get the process moving with a new staff now. The realistic best case scenario for next year is not acceptable for year 5 and keeping DM another year is just delaying the inevitable at this point.

Well said, Frosty.

I really don't think about it too much because Manning is going to be the coach next year no matter what.

I've been trying to give DM the benefit of doubt, it's getting harder. IMHO if he doesn't win at least 20 games , including at least half of his conf. games next year; he should be gone. Maybe the boosters should threaten to end donations until he is gone.

This is where I'm at as well. It's starting to get to the point where I'm actually impressed when some of the games have as many people as they do. For most of the season I was willing to give Danny one more year. I'm not fully #Dannyout yet but it definitely wouldn't hurt my feelings to see him get canned.

Rapid turnover in coaches is another contributor to mediocrity or worse.

Continual hiring of shit coaches is a much bigger contributor to mediocrity or worse.

Which statement is more true? Mine or yours? I'll hang up to listen to your response. Thanks.

Fire him. Let Wellman hire a coach. I don’t care at this point. Let his deep pocket stooges front the buy out. If the new guy sucks, the new AD can fire him.

Have you been to games? They already left, the only people still going to games are olds with absolutely nothing better to do than see painfully bad ballgame, or fools like us who are so delusional we think it has to get better someday.

What would it take to bring back the fanbase? How many seasons performing at what level?

This is incorrect. Have you been attending games? I attend with my kids, and they sit with a bunch of other kids. There are children all over the stadium, especially for Saturday afternoon games.

Look at our last three games. We played at home against State in front of 13,000 people, at Pittsburgh in front of 2000 people, and at home against Notre Dame in front of 10,000. If for some reason you don’t believe the wake and pitt attendance numbers, then look at the still pictures from all three of those games.

We have a very impressive fan base for all the bad b-ball we have had over the past 8 years.

People will come back very quickly with a strong OOC performance and a good start in the conference.

I don’t think last season brought back the fan base.

I don’t think last season brought back the fan base.

It was there by the end of the year. Unfortunately the Louisville game was at 9:00 on a Tuesday but it definitely picked up. A good start this year and everything would have been back in good shape.

This.

Aside from Duke and Louisville game last year, this season has been the loudest the Joel has been over the last 8 years.

Yeah, but people are starting to yell at manning like they did at Bz.
