2020 Carolina Panthers Thread

I mean this is just dumb. The guy has 2 super bowl rings, one in a season where he had 1100+ yards. The following year he had 11 TDs. Then he got traded to the wasteland that was SF, and last year was a valuable contributor on a team with tons of weapons.

Lest we forget that Ted Ginn was considered washed up and done before he came to Carolina. He had 1 reception, yes 1, the year before he got here. Also only 1 year is his entire career with over 500 yards. We made Ted Ginn who he is.
You made my point for me, he is washed up and his last 2 seasons prove that. The fact he won 2 rings means crap to me, what has he done lately?

Zach Sanchez didn't play a single down for the Panthers last year. I'm not a Worley fan, but he graded higher than Bradbury on PFF last year, which is scary.

Maybe referencing Gunter? Gunter got a lot of snaps later in the season iirc

You said he’s never done much of anything in the pros and compared him to Ginn. He’s had an extremely productive NFL career, especially relative to Ginn’s pre-Panthers (and just in general).

Do better.

And I reiterate, what did he do in the recent history, you know the relevant part as it pertains to playing? This is typical Hurney crap, he will overpay for some washed up players and get us totally hamstrung with the salary cap again

I like Richard Sherman. He's smart, which you'd expect from a Stanford guy. Not real sure how much tread is on the tires though. When CB skills diminish it goes down quickly for them. I'm still wrestling with the thought of losing Star and Norwell. Can somebody tell me how the Giants, with less cap room, will sign him and we can't/won't? Is he going to be their only FA signing?

I dunno but it always seems like the Panthers are never in the mix for any big FAs year in and year out.

Seems like the roster has way more needs than it did a few weeks ago. We've got glaring holes at every position except TE and LB now.

QB - DA may not be re-signed
RB - Need a replacement for J Stew
TE - Fine
OT - Need a good LT
OG - Need a replacement for Nowell or at least depth even if Moton is the guy
C - Need a C of the future
DT - Need a #3 DT behind KK and Butler
DL - replace Peppers
CB - replace Worley
S - replace Coleman

Sherman to Niners. Figures. Doesn't even have to move.

The have less on paper now, but are expected to make some cuts that will give them like $35 mil of cap space, and it should pretty much all go into the Oline.
