First Charges Filed in Mueller Investigation

glad to see moonz breathlessly running to waive off the news. means the arrow striketh near

Mueller is a Republican.

The swamp, right and left hates TRUMP

Mueller is an unknowing agent for Putin and the Dems at this point. He is Putin's useful idiot.

Plus, he has a lot to cover up in the CIA/FBI/Deep state.

The Swan soon will sing his final song.

I think Mueller is about to be handed his walking papers.

Partisan swamp sucking hack.

Good. Fire him. Will be the quickest way to hand Trump his own walking papers. If the current Congress won't do it then the new one in Jan 2019 will.

Good luck getting a conviction in the Senate.

Lol yeah pubs - who Trump has consistently shat on for the past 12 months - are going to have a real hard time throwing him under the bus. A guy they never really liked to begin with and who is currently weighing House candidates down like an anchor. Finding 10-15 pubs or whatever is necessary to get to two thirds in the senate won't be easy but it's not out of the realm of possibility either.

The whole scenario would be amazing

rj, nedick, ranger, rachel, larry et al's heads would simultaneously explode while their underwear imploded

Yep. This is what it’s all about for the rubes. Their lives suck so it doesn’t matter what the policies are or what people stand for. As long as it makes the other side go nuts.

I'm not as confident as you are, and I wouldn't be surprised if we're headed toward a constitutional crisis. I saw some poll numbers, and that same 35-40% who still love Trump fall into either the believe or somewhat believe that Mueller's investigation is partisan. When Geraldo Rivera told Hannity on Hannity's show that had Hannity and Fox been around in the 1970s, Nixon would not have been impeached. I said when he made that comment that I agree with his assessment and still do. The groundwork for such a crisis is being laid. We are now hearing that Trump is likely going to fire Sessions and will replace Sessions with someone who will fire Mueller. We'll have another Saturday Night Massacre, however this time around, there will be no Barry Goldwater who will go tell the president that his goose is cooked, and Trump will remain in office.

That may prove to be true, but I think what's missing is that, while 35%-40% may stay with Trump, I think a far larger group would not passively allow him to stay in office. When something like this happened in South Korea, there were massive, historic protests in the streets, and strikes, and the president there eventually resigned. I just don't see the vast numbers of people who loathe Trump just standing by while he creates a constitutional crisis and does whatever he wants. The PA Special House election and the election in Alabama shows, I think, that there are large numbers of people even in red areas who are growing tired of Trump's circus. If he does fire Mueller and tries to shut down the investigation, then I think it may be the Trumpites who are in for a rude awakening, not the other way around. I also can't imagine that firing Mueller wouldn't further damage their chances of holding onto Congress in November.

The 35-40% are the ones with personal armories and if protests erupt, violence will likely follow. It could get very ugly.

I do agree with that. I just don't think the people who oppose Trump (and who I think are a much larger group) will not fight, or at least create massive protests, themselves. The Trumpites may be armed, but I don't think they represent the great majority of the public. Whether they can impose their will onto that larger group for very long is dubious, I think. It could easily get very ugly, no matter who wins.

They can impose their will until at least January. That’s a long time.
