I can't really bear to read a long article praising Buzz, but I skimmed enough to see the Wake Forest phase of his career got yadda yadda yadda-ed.
 
Interesting and very complimentary article.
So......if he can be so successful in the NBA and impress so many top level coaches and players, why didn't he work out at Wake?

Well, if Wake's thing is to turn great assistant coaches into terrible head coaches, I guess Childress will be taking over for Manning if we miss the tourney next year.

Are there any other assistant's out there making a name for themselves that we can ruin by over-promoting them?

Oh yeah, he sucks in basically every aspect as a college coach. I didn't mean to take away from everything else he sucked at
 
NCAA head coach and NBA assistant two very, very different jobs, very different skill sets as pointed out above. Wellman is the clown who does not/ did not understand this.
 
coaching in the NBA and coaching college kids are two different things
Bz probably knows the Xs and Os of basketball as well as anyone, but he obviously can't teach well (but veterans who already know the game don't need to be "taught") and seems to have problems motivating kids and obviously can't recruit his way out of a paper bag.
A brilliant college math professor could be a failure when it comes to teaching middle school algebra because teaching algebra is less about knowing the math and more about knowing how to teach 12 year olds....that may be an exaggerated example of the difference between an NBA and college coach, but it's just two spots on the same scale.

that's impressive how they made it sound like he quit wake because he couldn't wait to get back in the NBA.
 
Jeezuz Kryst...I made it about 10 paragraphs in...

Wonder if Chris Paul ever makes any comments to Bz about burning down the program he helped build? Even sarcastically or semi-joking.. I mean at least some resentment has got to be there right?

Because he ranks somewhere on the autistic scale, can't relate to players, or fan-bases, can't recruit, certainly can't handle a press conference, also he is just a shitty person. There was an article last season with him trying to take credit for Wakes success last year as if he built the foundation of that team. GTFO Buzz.

The thing is if an autistic math guru is talking to another genius they are going to be able to understand what he is trying to say. That might be what is happening down in Houston, or it could be that he is an irrelevant assistant coach with incredible players and he is trying to take credit for other peoples work.... Again.
 
Did anyone expect anything less, our basketball program just gets deeper and deeper in the crap pool, while the man who started it all is enjoying success. It's all so Wake Forest.

I doubt it, Bzzz doesn't seem like the type that can take a joke.
 
If Bz had simply come and been a shitty head coach and had the exact same record, I would be totally fine to wish him well and be happy for his success.

But that dude came in and just shat assburgers all over the program, threw every player under the bus, acted like a goddamn child for four years.
