Yeah that's where Ashe County's finest pulled me over late Thursday night while I was driving the van up there. He let me off with a warning though. Also, there is this BAUCE ice cream shop there that we went to after the New River marathon back in May.

Downtown has come a long way since I was a kid. Back when I was 10, it was full of empty stores. It's trying to turn into another Blowing Rock with the promotion of tourism and industry moving out.

Where is the ice cream shop? That may be something new. I haven't visited much since I moved away back in 2007.
