Boston College - Game Time Moved to 5:30pm Kickoff

We ran 105 plays to their 70. Blocked a punt for a TD which effectively gave them an extra possession. Still ran that many plays. And still lost.

Our tempo offense clearly had he intended impact - BC defense was gassed at the end of the game. But two picks and three long drives resulting in a total of 6 points rendered all of that worthless.

We ran for over 300 yards against BC and people are criticizing the offensive line for playing terrible?

Maybe this was covered earlier on here, but I assume Bachman was out? Those pathetic announcers never mentioned that at all, unless I fast forwarded through that part. At one point, they were pimping BC's receving corps and kind of dissed Wake's - basically they think they're good but they haven't been as good as BC tonight. Hey dumbasses, 2 of the 3 starters are out - you think that may make a difference? And it seemed like the back-ups had a hard time getting open tonight. The fact of the matter is we have some good first line starters at many positions, but the depth is still not there, and unfortuantely we have had a ton of injuries so far. No bueno.

Bachman was out. Washington played.

BC scores 6 touchdowns and was never in the red zone.

BC's secondary and pass rush prevented us from making any explosive plays, while our problem was the exact opposite, our rush was ineffective and.our secondary non existent. Maybe our secondary was extra soft because we were stacking the box, but it didnt work. We need to re-do our entire defensive scheme or else were going to give up 400 passing yards every game.

I’m not quite as doom and gloom as ya’ll. Wake played like wet horse shit and still had a chance to win. What do we have, like 10 would be starters or MAJOR contributors out with an injury, some for the season. If they can get Henderson and Masterson healthy, then they won’t have to rely on Taylor to cover on the outside, which he clearly can’t do, and give the safeties some more depth. I’m not impressed with Sawvel, but Hartman is only going to get better and BC is a good team. If Wake can get healthy, then they are too.

To me, the killer was BC's TD after the drive in which we didn't score down at the goal line. If we could have gotten a three and out, or even some sort of BC punt within 7 or so plays, we could have broken them. Instead, they flipped the momentum by going all the way down the field and also gave their defense a long rest.

Washington played what - 2 plays? He had that nasty block, and then was kind of moving his arm around like it was still bothering him. Then shortly after (maybe next play?) he looked pretty bad trying to catch the ball over his head, and then I don't think he played again.

Nobody played poorly on offense, we had 300yds rushing and over 500 yds of offense so they were not the issue. After everyone but the coaches clear out tonight, Claw should get in Sawvells face and tell him to fix this d*** _efense or else

I don’t know. Apparently ESPN was only allowed to talk about BC personnel during the game

It could have been worse. If Dortch would have caught the 4th down touchdown pass we probably would have lost on a last second play or in overtime and it would sting even worse.

I think everyone agrees we sacrifice Bowers against Notre Dame and bring Hartman back for the Rice game.

Pass blocking wasn’t great. Sam didn’t have much of a pocket on any throws that weren’t quick hits.

500 yards in 100 plays isn't as impressive (granted, impressive we were able to run so many plays).

At the end of the day the O is good enough, and will only improve as Hartman gains experience. The pass defense is unacceptable -- hopefully dudes getting healthy iwll magically fix it, but I have severe doubts

Claw honest and blunt per usual:

Same line almost got Hartman killed! One BC player had 4 sacks!!!

They had 4 sacks on 45 pass attempts. Nothing to worry about. The defense gave up 6 TD passes on 16 completions. THAT is a problem.

Love Clawson, he is upset and it shows. Not sugar coating at all like some other coaches in the State

Which were all of BC’s sacks.

Gilliam got abused a few times, but the pressure came mostly when BC could pin their ears back and rush b/c we had to pass.

The OL is fine - not superhuman, but fine.

Biggest problem is that the safeties are making the wrong reads or our schemes intentionally gives safety preference to run support leaving our corners on an island. Our corners have the physical tools, but technique and field awareness is poor.
