BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - Charles Coleman de-commits to Wake. :(

Also, the trend in today's game is for bigs to have an outside game. See Joel Embiid as exhibit A.

Agreed. Is it just me or was Sam Perkins not really known for his outside shooting in college the way he became in the NBA?

Perkins did see some benefit from a shorter three point line, but also saw a pretty dramatic improvement in shooting midway through his NBA career.

In his first eight seasons in the NBA, Perkins averaged 0.61 3pt attempts/game (0.74 attempts/40 min), and only made 27%. This covered 1984-1993 when the 3 point line was 23' 9'' at the arc and 22' at the corners.

In his final eight seasons in the NBA, Perkins averaged 3.21 3pt attempts/game (5.60 attempts/40 min), and made 38.2%. This covered 1993-2001, where the dimensions matched the above distances in 93-94 and 97-01, but the three seasons spanning 94-97 the dimensions were 22' across the entire arc.

Damn, my welcome bob bob post does not show up in comic sans on my mobile.

No. You don't.

Also, I'm with the "if you are surrounded by assholes all day, you might be the asshole" crazies that think the problem is manning.

I’m with the “in a group of 8 people there’s probably more than one asshole” normals who realize that probably at least three players left primarily for reasons other than Manning (the two graduates and probably at least one more) and that at least one left for reasons primarily related to Manning.

It's not like they hide it. They exist as nothing more than a privately funded basketball program meant up sneak kids into college that didn't cut it in high school.

Website for the school is literally libertyheightshoops.com

They are called Liberty Heights Athletic Institute.

There "staff" page shows coaches. Not one teacher to be found.

They raise money from private businesses in order to pay bills. Would be interesting to see what sort of businesses invest into such an entity.

They don't actually have a building.

It's a joke, and yet our staff has no issues recruiting and filling out team players from Liberty Heights and it's peer in W-S, QEA.

We might as well create a fake program for them to "attend" at Wake, a la UNC.

BBall Recruiting Thread 2k19 - 2019 SF Ismael Massoud commits to Wake!

This isn’t saying I agree or disagree, but the “there” in your post is hilarious considering what it’s about.

Just out of curiosity I googled Huntington Prep. It is described as a "basketball focused college preparatory school." The alma mater of Andrew Wiggins and Patrick Patterson (and O.J. Mayo if I recall correctly) and current school of former Wake target Quinn Slawzewski. Click on "school info" and you go to info on a Catholic HS there in Huntington. At least they play a good schedule.

It's all about culture with Ronnie boy and nothing spells academics like a coach run school.

The players all live in a house with the coach, but attend St. Joseph's HS. The school has a good reputation, and back in the day, they had a good basketball program

Do you honestly have a problem with this or are you just looking for any reason to criticize this staff? If it were Quincy Miller, or John Wall, or Harry Giles would you care? If yes, why?

It’s just hypocritical that we endured all of that culture shit from our AD and we’re recruiting players from literal diploma mills.
