Recommend good stuff you've seen on Netflix streaming

Kate Siegel has the best acted scene in the whole show, but obviously Olivia has some strong contenders.

The scene where she is trying to explain to Shirly what happened when she touched Olivia's corpse gave me cihlls. Granted, the ending kind of undermines the whole "death is just a pit of darkness" theory, but it was still great in the moment.

Agree with TDatF that Daario 2 struggles a little, but:

I think he got a particularly tough role in that it runs counteractive to everyone else's. I read an article talking about how each of the siblings represents a stage of grief: Stephen is Denial, Shirley is Anger, Theo is Bargaining, Luke is Depression and Olivia is Acceptance. So in those terms, denial is the one that sticks out as an irrational stance given the seemingly overwhelming evidence.

I was just commenting of them both being hawt. Kate Siegel kinda looks like a younger Angelina Jolie to me

But have enjoyed their characters moreso than the brothers, although the dude playing Luke has it tough because it just seems like every other junkie performance I've ever seen

I initially read her name as Kate Segal. Never heard of Kate Siegel. She's looks like a young Jolie with a dash of young Lynda Carter.

the child actors are surprisingly good. the only one that struggles is the oldest because they gave him a little too much to do.

Adam Sandler's standup special was much better than I expected. Doesn't look much older than when I saw him at Wake around '99

Homecoming, you guys. Fuck, that finale was good.

How much does the show revolve around counseling returning soldiers? Is it central to the plot or part of the back drop?

Thanks. That wasn’t clear in the early reviews. I have a student who just completed his thesis on soldier post-deployment transitions. I’ll recommend it so he can binge it before he deploys. I’ll put on my list as well. Need something to hold me over until Mr. Robot returns.

Binged on Man In The High Castle recently. First season was good, second season less good and more weird, third season total shit. Rufus Sewell is the only reason to watch at this point.

so if you average it out one might say "meh"

Did anyone make it all the way through season 2 of Making a Murderer?

I was glued to my couch for season 1, but I stopped watching 1.5 episodes into the 'new' content. It all seemed so superfluous. Seeing how the defense teams made their sausage wasn't particularly interesting to me.

Especially because the media has been covering updates on this case ever since it blew up, there wasn't bound to be much fresh/interesting content.

I also made it 1.5 episodes of season 2 of Making a murderer and found it to be a snoozefest. Anybody keep going with it?

Watched Hasan Minhaj's Patriot Act. It's good. I like the TED talk style presentation. It's an extension of the John Oliver format that works well. But you can also put it on in the background like a podcast and get a lot of out of it. I really enjoyed his treatment of Affirmative Action from the perspectives of Asian-Americans.

I watched the trailer for Season 2 and thought I had mistakenly watched the trailer for Season 1.
