Jeffrey Epstein

Romney openly courted Trump’s endorsement during the birther movement. I don’t understand how a conservative can disavow the GOP now when 99% of the same Republicans they supported four years are still in the GOP.

Trump is a repulsive person, but he’s governing like the mainstream of the Republican Party has for the last 35-40 or so years.

This was very constructive. Thank you for your time.

As long as you’re constantly reminded of the blood that you have on your hands (you and every other “principled conservative”), then it’s constructive. If all of these supposed #neveragain folks really want to avoid this happening again, then they’re going to need to understand themselves as culpable in the institutional decline and kleptocracy that has been thepoint of Republican governance for the last 35-40 years. This is arguably an ideal outcome of Republican strategy and policy since the GOP was your party.

I agree that Donald doesn't represent conservatism in many (maybe even most) regards from a theoretical perspective. However, most of his enablers as well as most of the elected Republican officials were in fact elected running on conservative policies and the ones who have been in office for a longer time have been predominantly conservative over that time period. These are the same elected officials who have rolled over and acquiesced to Donald's presidency.

There are plenty of elected Democrats who don't always put liberal and/or progressive policies into practice in office, but are there any similar examples to what is going on now with Republicans?

I realize hindsight is 20/20, but without the current crop of spineless Republicans in other elected positions refusing to do anything (and elected by the very conservatives who now claim not to have a party) Donald wouldn't be remotely as powerful as he is today. How many of these Republicans put into office by conservatives have stood up to Donald on a regular basis?

Well said. And if you continue the logic, this is why historically “principled” conservatives, who primarily vote republican, are considered republicans. And when Donald polls extremely high in the Republican Party, a party that historically promotes conservative values, it’s fair to equate conservative with republican.

Dialogue with this is not possible.

Trump consistently has the highest approval among Republicans of any president. How else do you explain that? Almost all the GOP leaders you supported four years ago support Trump. He faces very little resistance in the party.

Jeffrey Epstein’s mysterious, alleged madam surfaced Thursday at a California In-N-Out Burger, where a photographer snapped her reading a spy novel while scarfing down a burger and fries.

Ghislaine Maxwell, 57, allegedly provided Epstein with underage sex slaves. Court documents allege Maxwell, who is the daughter of the late, disgraced publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, also participated in threesomes with Epstein and underage girls, according to multiple women who have come forward in the case.

On Wednesday, one of Epstein’s alleged victims sued Maxwell and three other unidentified female staff members for allegedly conspiring to allow her to be raped, the New York Post reported.

Jennifer Araoz alleged in an op-ed for the New York Times that Maxwell and the other defendants helped Epstein lure her to his mansion when she was a 15-year-old high school freshman under the guise that he would help her career and family. Epstein allegedly forcibly raped her when she refused to have sex with him.

Araoz was first to file a lawsuit after New York’s Child Victims Act went into effect Wednesday. The new law removed a statute of limitations and permits victims to file lawsuits against those who sexually assaulted them as children until they turn 55-years-old.

The elusive former associate of Epstein could face criminal prosecution, and is believed to have valuable information about Epstein's illicit activities. Epstein was found dead in his prison cell early Saturday. Authorities said it appeared he committed suicide, but an autopsy has raised questions about his cause of death.

Maxwell was photographed sitting alone in the outside patio area of a Los Angeles In-N-Out Burger restaurant Thursday. She is seen reading an opened book with a burger and fries on the table in front of her, the Post reported.

The front cover of the book, which was not visible in the photograph, featured the title “The Book of Honor: The Secret Lives and Deaths of CIA Operatives.” The best-selling work of investigative reporting written by Ted Gup uncovered the untold stories of CIA agents who died anonymously serving the country.

Maxwell has not been photographed in public since 2016, the Post reported. It was reported Wednesday that Maxwell was hiding out in her boyfriend Scott Borgerson’s home in Massachusetts.

not difficult to understand at all how a rather flawed Donald with a very strong economy is highly preferable to the radical Dem alternative

Lol yea Mayor Pete is so radical compared to Trump. And Trump and what the GOP are doing are not extreme Right at all. Good one sailor.

Junebug — how do you explain this? Have some dialogue.

That's great and all until a recession hits and we are staring down the barrel of a $2 trillion plus deficit and a financial crisis and we won't have any stimulus left. We will then appreciate the measured responsible economic stewardship of the past.

You will blame the person left with picking up the pieces and will magically become a deficit hawk.

TITCR...Joe Biden, the leading candidate for the Democratic nomination, is basically a handsy Joseph Stalin, and Hillary Clinton, the last Donkey nominee, was basically Lenin with a uterus.

Just a heads up. They’re going to blame Democrats and media for any recession. All these people who claim not to like Trump except for the strong economy will stick with him. And they’ll do it with no hint of irony that they voted Republican during the Bush recession election, Obama recovery elections, and then again during a Trump recession election while claiming it’s about the economy.

failed deflection

Biden is impossible to evaluate because he himself does not know what he believes, save for an adamant insistance on gaffs. If he had a third foot, it would be in his mouth too. Let's wait until he is finished groveling before trying to determine what he actually thinks, if anything at all. That he is the leader of the field among the Dems says all you need to know about the condition of your party.

Clinton has gone through so many metamorphoses in her life, even she does not know who and what she is. She certainly does not believe in anything except that she deserves to be the first female president.

Definitely better off with a rapey, racist, dumbass than either of these two communists!

The lack of self-awareness is comical.
