Ongoing gun violence/injury thread

Maybe because the suicide rate in Alaska is particularly high and they could get away with it there as opposed to high suicide states in the lower 48.

Great. Now everyone is just going to go to their local black market arms dealer that every person some how knows to get military grade weaponry. Or at least that's what the right would have you believe.

Can’t tell if you’re joking. Every person does know about gun shows and the internet.

I think the point is, or at least the way I took wolverine's post, is that this can't be solved through distributor and marketplace self regulation because the customers will just find other suppliers and sellers. There has to be a government regulation limiting the production, sale and possession of these deadly weapons.

I would at least assume that 14 year old kid couldn't get his hands on a gun outside of his house.

Although it wouldn't do anything in this case, there should be a very simple, national law, the gun owner is responsible for any damages created by that weapon regardless of who uses it. And there should be no ability to move assets or put them in the names of others.

Because you have the right to have gun doesn't mean you don't have responsibilities from that ownership.

According to David Hogg (hero to many on the Tunnels Left), it's easier to buy an AR-15 than it is to vote:

Buying an assault rifle shouldn’t easier than voting.

Does anyone disagree?

that actually isn’t what he’s saying mr reading comprehension man

The key thing isn’t that Reagan said it, it’s the huge applause it gets.

look at Congressman Responsible Gun Owner over here

Crenshaw: With universal background checks, I wouldn’t be able to let my friends borrow my handgun.
AOC: Why are you lending guns to people unsupervised who can’t pass a basic background check?
Crenshaw: Seriously that’s your argument? That they can’t pass a background check?

the fuckin brain trust on display here

SNL really fucked up by apologizing to/normalizing Congressman Deplorable

Just like they normalized Trump.

Congressman fucking Deathstroke things he's some badass because he played victim on SNL and talks shit at Dems. But yeah, his shitty friend could absolutely shoot his girlfriend with his gun. These people think guns are toys. They're not.

I’m from Texas, grew up hunting, and never borrowed a gun, let alone a hand gun, to “try it out.” I married into a family that shoots guns but responsibly (in laws, at least). What I have done is “borrowed” a gun to shoot at a targets while the gun owner is right there. Keeping one over night or for an extended period of time is preposterous to me. You never know someone’s intentions. He may be right that lend guns to friends or whatever, but that doesn’t make it right. It’s irresponsible.

Yeah, other than maybe to take out on a bird hunt or trap shooting/range thing, most gun owners don't let their guns out, even the ye-haw trump superfans in the wilds of PA. Frankly seems like a super-dumb thing to say let alone trumpet like it's a great idea

The worst part is that if he did lend his friend a gun and that friend killed someone, he’d express his thoughts and prayers on twitter and posit that “there’s nothing that could have been done to prevent this, we never saw it coming”
