Louisville Game Time - 7:30 ACCN

Yeah, that QB prancing 30+ yards into the end zone untouched was just awful.

We can beat FSU, but we’ve got to play much better on D. FSU is a shell of what they were, but they’ve still got talent and speed. I thought Louisville did a very good job utilizing their speed in their play calling. We can still have a great year and the heart this team shows make me think it’s possible, but we’ve got to be better on kick coverage and defense or we could lose out.

The only one that I can put squarely on refs is #2. And all the other PI calls missed tonight. They clearly came with a play to molest our receivers. Guess what. So will FSU and Clemson. We still win if we can kickoff like mediocre D2 teams. And also terrible defensive preparation.

The defense did not play that bad.

Three TDS from special teams and carney’s Fumble equal 21 points. Put them in the hole early

That play happened literally right in front of me. The closest ref called it a catch. He got overturned by a guy 40 yards away on the other side of Washington.
 
The QB scramble on 3rd and long and again on 4th and 1 was infuriating. That happened all night long and we kept taking the bait. Poor execution all around. Glad we fought until the end. Destroy FSU and move on. Hope Jamie is ok. Go Deacs
 
Newman is great at the slow RPO and Hartman is a thrower, not a runner. It’s been known that Louisville’s secondary is their weakness, yet too much of the offense was spent playing around with the slow to develop RPO.
 
How many third and +10 did our D give up tonight? Other then offense nobody stepped up.
 
At least this game gets me out of going to church tomorrow. If there was a benevolent higher power he would never have made me a Wake fan from birth.

We also had two drives that were stopped when the same TE dropped catchable balls that would have given first downs. In a shootout like that, you can't afford to self-destruct drives.
 
Privately Clawson needs to go apeshit on the ACC office regarding the PI that happens on every single play against us. BC did it, UL did it more, FSU will watch film and do it.

Publicly he needs to take the blame for this and get our special teams right, stat

The difference here is that we had about 7-9 replays and every single one stood except for one... And every single one was WRONG on the field. The field judges were trash, almost as much trash as Louisville U.
