KP Report - Wooden Legacy Tourney - Arizona 9 pm Sunday ESPN (all times Eastern)

How fucking dumb do you have to be do call someone that as a scholarship athlete at Disneyland? I mean anywhere, but JFC.

She posted this publicly on twitter? Needed to be sure everyone knew she was doing the right thing. Of course we might never know the details otherwise.

I don't think we should put the blame on Neath. After all he grew up with Mentors like Justin Beiber.

The blame should be put squarely on the shoulders of the person creating the culture of Wake basketball.

Seems really crazy for people to act rude and disrespectful while at Disneyland. They were also caught cutting a line. Not a good look at all from an ethics, integrity, diversity and inclusion, or culture perspective.

She did the right thing by contacting the person who could handle the situation by correcting and disciplining the players. Talking about it on social media and failing to black out the names properly makes it a public story.

Bigotry should be called out publicly. The vast majority of the time, when this stuff is reported privately, especially to an image-conscious institution it just gets buried and nothing happens. Good for her for making it public and opening herself up to criticism.

I guess these players have to accept that they’re public figures and thus their actions carry more consequences. They probably haven’t acclimated to that reality.

My point was that her post seemed to have a self congratulatory tone. If this were two members of a college debate team, I wonder if she would have gone to the “FBI” level effort of figuring out who they were and posting about it publicly. She might have just written their coach the same letter and been done with it. But because it was big time athletes who play for a famous coach, she brought it to social media. Just my impression.

Checked out her twitter account and seems as if she is a self proclaimed social justice warrior. I don’t think she is lying about the homophobic slur, but she might have exaggerated the circumstances of the whole team being rude. Also noticed she didn’t do a great job covering the names. Not a good look for the team at all.

I don’t blame her. People in the service industry take a ton of verbal abuse from customers, and the vast majority of the time they can’t do anything about it. But in this case, they could identify and call out the people being assholes. I’d be pumped about that too.

Way to easy to just blame the kid on this. This reflects a culture of privilege.

First step is to suspend or fire this kids coach. Next step would be to terminate the AD that allowed this sort of coach to remain at Wake despite showing no ability to impart character to these young men.

Finally the university president should be removed by the board of trustees.

Clean house. Show that Wake is serious about integrity.

As far as the player goes, Wake should be able to find some tolerance classes that can solve the problem.

Snowflakes

So using the word faggot makes one homophobic? Having a phobia is a serious issue. I remember the good old days when it was OK to tell jokes about race, gender or so called sexual orientation. So lets pretend that no one tells those jokes anymore.

WTF is "so called sexual orientation"?

Hell yeah my man. What are some of your favorite jokes from those good old days?

Ugh, there are a few terrible takes on here, and this is one of them.

The players involved need to apologize.
