Pinstripe Bowl vs Michigan State

Chills will run up and down your spine, for sure.

That’s one of the uglier trophies I’ve ever seen. George Kostanza design that one?

Does the George M. Steinbrenner III Trophy come with a parole officer?

anyone ever flow into the Newark airport? All my searches keep finding this as the cheapest flight but not sure if I want to go that route. Probably A long shot that someone on a Wake message board would know anything about New Jersey ...I kid I kid.

Newark is your typical US airport. You can take the train from there into Penn Central, which you can’t do from Laguardia.

Yanks can afford 400 million for a pitcher but can’t shell out the extra 100 bucks for a nameplate nicer than what’s on my JV Soccer 2nd place trophy.

Depending on where you are staying, Newark is probably the cheapest uber ride into the city or you can take the train directly, as someone else mentioned - the train runs twice an hour, its a New Jersey Transit, not terribly bad, but shows up at Penn Station and you will still need another cab ride to wherever you are going. If you have 3 or more people, just take an Uber from the airport will be cheaper and faster.

Uber from JFK is generally $80-$90 and takes 1-2 hours, LGA and Newark is $50-$70, unless crazy surge pricing, and takes 30-45 minutes.

The fact that they give second place JV soccer trophies is why America is shit now. See the chat thread.

Newark is the closest to Manhattan. Once you arrive, take the Airtrain ( free ) from any of the 3 terminals ( 5 minutes ) over to the nearby Northeast Corridor railroad station to catch a NJTransit train into NYPenn Station ( Madison Square Garden ) in 20 minutes.

From there take a cab to your hotel of choice. But, just a suggestion, the Pennsylvania hotel is directly across the street from MSG/NYPenn Station and 1 block over to Herald Square ( Macy's ) to catch the D train ( subway ) to/from Yankee Stadium ( 18-20 minute ride ).

GO DEACS !

Another NY suggestion, only buy steak on stick from a street vendor who has a Brazilian flag on his rig. They have the best spices and meat.

I travel to NYC frequently. My daughter lives in a Brooklyn.

The hotels I usually frequent are very inexpensive these dates. The problem begins the 28th night when they sky rocket for NEw years. The 26 to 28 is less than normal. I’ve booked a hotel that I could never reasonably afford for literally 1/3 the regular price.

Others have mentioned this, but the dates in question downtown hotels are very inexpensive. Just lean the the east side so you can catch the 4 train. Subway pops right up in the stadium. I ride the subways a lot. Very convenient to go north south. Just try and stay within a short walk from the 4. I’m a downtown guy.

Just looking at a list now of hotels, and there are 1/2 dozen that I know well that are half price.

I’m pumped about this game and looking forward to a great time. The weather has been crappy, and our schedule the last two years has been weather impacted. We are due to have a blue crisp 40 degree day. Go Deacs!!

Yes, the train to penn station from Newark is good. Penn station kinda sucks but the subway comes in.

From LGA I always take the Golden something bus for $16 to Gran Central. It is a nice bus with WiFi very convenient. Because LGA is in a cluster with construction it is difficult to get a taxi. You have to bus from the airport to a makeshift cab stand. I really like the bus to Grand Central which is literally that central. Did it two weeks ago.

If you are there for a few days, it might be an idea to get the weekly pass. I think it's a little more than $30 (half price if you are old). That's about ten rides, but can be used as much as you want.

It avoids the hassles of having to buy fares for each ride.

The Pennsylvania hotel hit its prime in 1930. It is a dump and the lobby is filled with deplorables. Stay away.

This is a correct take. Rooms are horrible. If you do happen to stay here, never use the entrance on 32nd, it's generally covered in pee, and the cops dont move the homeless out after dark or before sun up.

Most of the chain hotels are ok in Penn Station area, if that's where you want to stay.

Didn't HONDO stay at some awful meth hooker hotel on a recent trip to W-S ?
