One of the crazy things about all of this is that the GOP wants Hunter Biden to testify in order to smear he and Joe... which was the entire point of the corrupt scheme Trump launched. The corruption is just sitting out there.

Some Dem ought to "float" the idea that they would "trade" calling Hunter Biden for calling Jared and Ivanka.

but at the same time they're saying they didn't withhold aid to Ukraine, which is the whole damn point of this impeachment.

I don’t think he’s in the tank for Donald I just don’t think he’s ever going to bring up that privilege is waived due to a tweet. I don’t think he’s gonna do much of anything substantive during this trial but perhaps I’ll be surprised.
 
Isn’t Roberts a Republican? It’s like half of the current Republican platform to just dismiss everything their party leader tweets as not real.

Every single Pub that has spoken publicly, except Amash, is in the tank for Trump, so it is not irrational to think and worry that maybe Roberts is too.
 
I also have profound distrust of anyone who presided over Citizens United to have the country’s best interest at heart.

Of course it's a ridiculous and grossly hypocritical argument (not that either of those things bother the modern GOP), but it's clear that Trump's lawyers are just playing to his base for the election later this year. If they can bosides it enough, and if Biden wins the Dem nomination, they'll argue this summer and fall that the Bidens are just as corrupt as the Trumps (or worse!) so why not just stick with your tribe and vote for the Republican crook instead of the equally bad, or worse, Democratic crook? Trump's lawyers are actually focusing more on the election this fall than in exonerating Trump, because they already know the Senate won't vote to remove him, no matter what evidence is found.
 
If Trump keeps this up with the Bidens, his family's self-dealing and profiting from his presidency is absolutely fair game and much worse than a ceremonial gig of Hunter Biden.

They might be fair game in the election but they really aren’t relevant to the impeachment charges.
