2020 Democratic Presidential Nominees

oh man, even The Atlantic is pissed about it !

here's the tweet, fwiw

When I hear "American Heartland," I hear "Big Ten. "Which means I immediately think of fat drunks, chicks with big butts, and second rate football, so I tune out.

American Heartland is a little dog whistle-y, but this is being way overblown

there's clearly not an actual problem with it, it's just meaningless drivel

there are campaigns going for substance and staying on message all day every day and then there's the bloomberg-buttigieg strategy

who is advertising in your respective states?

bloomberg is the only person I've seen on tv here in Illinois

Townie, Strick, and MHB don't get what people like about Pete because they follow criticisms of Pete instead of following Pete himself.

Here is Townie:

Here's a good example from this response to what Townie posted.

Ph that may well be true, and it may also be true that Pete knows his audience and sends focus grouped tweets out all day.

What a shit question. It's even misspelled. Where are the Indian restaurants in Iowa? Probably Des Moines and Iowa City. Do old people who aren't Indian even eat Indian food? "Predictive Power?" Oh man. That's just horrible. They're taking age and geographic differences in support and trying to racialize them.

here are the ten best indian restaurants in iowa according to a website called best things iowa: https://bestthingsia.com/indian-food/

i actually meant to copy-paste something else; i don't find that particular chart illuminating in any way, and was copy-pasting to my wife to make fun of the times, but as it were lots of races and ages and people like indian food

whether it's any more predictive of whom people will vote for than any other demo is another story. i'm guessing the sample size here of probably iowa caucusgoers doesn't really meet much statistical rigor either.

I think there are some stereotypes in here but I'm not sure.

Or facts. You can Google Indian restaurants in Iowa. Old people tend to lose their taste buds over time and lose taste for spicier more flavorful foods. They're also less likely to try new foods.

I did Google it. It turns out there are lots of Indian restaurants in Iowa. Not only in the major cities, either!
