Wake Forest Football Recruiting

every time I see Alonzo Ford I think Antonio Ford and I'm like "he's been gone for a while now"

Any drama for NSD today?

Stewart is a big body and played with a number of NFL guys. Will be interesting to see if he is able to contribute. Seems like a good player to win some downfield 50/50 balls.

The risk of Donald Steward is he talks about how amazing Stanford ( the school itself) is and we have grad transfers there. It is one of the few schools that can pitch Wake’s recruiting pitch with a cherry on top. Furthermore, Wake football players are some of the few college players that could transfer to Stanford. Put different we are fertile ground for Stanford to get some of our players.

🙄

Impressed with Clawson’s commitment to the importance of the kicking game and improving wake’s kick off coverage weakness. Imagine our record last year without Sciba or with a strong legged touchback specialist. Attention to these details will be key to teams success

That's dumb. It's far more likely he blazes a path of grad transfers from Stanford to Wake.

David Glenn article in The Athletic about recruiting in NC:

thought this was interesting:

In terms of quantity, Doeren’s in-state emphasis couldn’t be more clear. Here’s the breakdown (counting walk-ons) of North Carolina high school products on the 2019 rosters of the state’s seven FBS programs: N.C. State (76), Charlotte (60), Appalachian State (55), East Carolina (51), North Carolina (51), Wake Forest (24), Duke (21).

LOWF times ten

Paranoid? I must have missed the flow of our grad eligible players to Stanford.

Interestingly, that's also probably pretty representative of the percentage of students from NC for those schools for those student bodies as a whole.

For the most part, yes.
However, I'd guess the % of NC students at Charlotte and Appy is somewhat higher.

All that tells me is that Doeren is having a hard time putting together a winning program with a bunch of 3-stars and 2-stars from NC.
