2020 Democratic Presidential Primary

For at least a quarter of a century, Bernie chose Fidel Castro over JFK, whom he said made him puke. Those are Bernie's own words. What kind of Democrat chooses Fidel over JFK? What kind of American chooses Fidel over JFK?

Easy answer, one who has no chance to win a general election for POTUS. If you don't think RW SuperPACs won't spend millions using this video, you are hopelessly naive.

If you don't think RW SuperPACs won't spend millions saying Bernie is Russia's choice for the Dem nominee, you are hopelessly nominee. BTW, the fact that Russia is helping Trump is already baked in for millions. This is new.

Bernie wants to take away your healthcare is another punch that will be thrown over and over.

Bernie being a socialist will be drilled into the American psyche to the tune of at least $500M.

Any one of these is probably enough to cause a loss. When you have all of them to be used against you, that candidate has no chance.

Bernie isn't a dead man walking. He's already strapped onto the gurney. The IVs are connected. All landlines, cell towers and satellite phones are down and the plungers are about to be pushed.

Are these things fair? Some are. Some aren't, but the reality is they all exist. You can't wish them away.

The reality is Bernie will get destroyed in the general election. There will be little to no chance to turn the Senate and the House will be in play for the GOP.

If I'm not mistaken, Strick is in the same time zone as I am. What's his excuse for being up so early?

It's not as much about getting up early as it is not going to bed at 2AM. :)

You are mistaken, RJ.

Old people get up early.

I’m just wondering why you wake up early and your first instinct is to post a bunch of invectives against Bernie Sanders. Weird lifestyle, man.

At next week's debate, I doubt Biden will bring any of this up. Bloomberg would screw it up. However, Warren could bring up the Moscow's pick and pull it off. Pete could say something like, "Bernie, when you were older than I am today when you said you supported Castro and JFK made you puke. Why? What kind of American and what kind of Democrat chooses Fidel Castro over JFK?

I doubt they will. This is why Dems lose campaigns unlosable races. They are afraid to do what is necessary.

Esquire writer Charlie Pierce just had the greatest statement about Bloomberg's debate performance saying that Mike was the worst main stage debater since General Stockdale, but the general had the excuse that he had been a POW for a long time.

I’m going to get mentally prepared for another caucus shitshow tonight. The reporting about early voting leads me to believe it will be difficult to blend the early votes into the live caucus. At least it could deliver the final death blow to caucuses.

There’s also been reporting about happened in 2008 with Hillary being close to declared the winner but Obama winning delegates based on late results from rural districts. I doubt anything like that will change who wins but the delegate math could make things much closer.

Bernie has a history of disrespecting Obama. Even after Obama went to Vermont to campaign for Bernie, the VT Senator refused to endorse Obama in 2008.

In 2012, Bernie said, " an interview Sanders gave on Thom Hartman’s radio show in July 2011, when the senator said, “There are millions of Americans who are deeply disappointed in the president—who believe that, with regard to Social Security and a number of other issues, he said one thing as a candidate and is doing something very much else as a president; who cannot believe how weak he has been, for whatever reason, in negotiating with Republicans; and there’s deep disappointment.” He continued: “It would be a good idea if President Obama faced some primary opposition.”

That was not the only time Sanders raised the idea publicly. Appearing on C-SPAN a few weeks later, he expanded on the point: “They want the president to stand up for the middle class, for the working class of this country, and they want him to take on big-money interests in a way that he has not done up to this point.” He’d been talking up a primary challenge since at least that spring, when he said in a radio interview with WNYC that he was already being asked whether he’d run against Obama, and although he insisted that he wasn’t going to, “in a democracy, it’s not a bad idea to have different voices out there.”

Why should Dems support and trust someone who wouldn't endorse Obama and multiple times called for Obama to be primaried?

That same person supported Castro and JFK made him puke.

Think about this. if some old fart can come up with these op research tidbits in a few minutes, what can an army of researchers come up with?

Just as much as I don't want Bernie to be the candidate, I don't want Bloomberg either.

Nevada was a shitshow in 2016 too. Who decides what states get to go early? NV should not be dictating the narrative this much after what happened last time.

The feelings about Bernie are what matters. Bernie supporters think 2016 was rigged against him and that wasn’t close.

not a bernie fan, but are you familiar with how the 2016 NV caucus went down? it's understandable

a number of last minute rule changes and "voice votes" -- https://www.commondreams.org/views/...te-party-convention-then-blamed-sanders-chaos

then the Dem party turned around and blamed Bernie supporters for being out of line when it was a bunch of people pissed off at the lack of a democratic process

He could spend his time searching tags for things that might offend him instead...

Or spend the majority of his posting time JCDing for Bernie. 🤷‍♂️
