If news reports are to believe they've been negotiating terms for his exit for weeks. I think that covers it.

Good news until it's bad news. There's no way that the decision is still up in the air at this point. I can't imagine the AD doesn't know what's going to happen. If he's being retained then that decision has been made, probably days or weeks ago. They could have just released some statement and been done with it, but they haven't yet. The optimistic side of me says that the AD wanted to wait to do a formal review to do the shit canning and that it's coming. The pessimistic side if me says that they're waiting to schedule a Wellman-esque dog and pony show to announce he's being retained.
 
today is the day!
i intentionally put on a wake shirt this morning - normally try to avoid embarrassment. went to get beer at the store and on the way out a lady said "go deacs!" as it took me off guard and completely random, I awkwardly said "thanks" as a response.
 
In the article about the [Redacted] firing, Dan notes that Wellman and Bz had a protracted review session, over parts of two days, and the resignation was at the end of the day two. Best guess is that there was a strong lean toward the firing resignation on day 1 with an "I want to sleep on it" ending. Then the Friday resignation.

It could go that way this time. Long, protracted discussion on day 1 of a review, then the firing/resignation on the following day (which could be Monday now.)

One hopeful note from Currie's latest Quad message is that basketball and year end reviews were not mentioned, just the myriad of things he has to oversee as part of the complete shutdown of spring semester sports and the campus.

People (if there are any) on campus should be on the lookout for some guy doing an electronic tour of the basketball facilities. If you can't bring a prospective coach to campus, bring an electronic version of the campus basketball facilities to the prospective coach.
 
Guys, it’s happening. The players and staff will be finding out soon on the decision.

Could be either but I think it's good news.
 
If Manning is returning for the 2020/2021 season, I could see that info buried in an email/tweet etc. that refers to a post-end of year review for all and lists all the people who will be coaching at Wake when things get going in the fall. Somewhere in that list will be "Head Men's Basketball Coach - Danny Manning"

He's absolutely got to be gone. It wouldn't have been stretched out this long otherwise.
