Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

It’s been an hour since posters said there is new incoming. This is ridiculous

This is Wake.

Because of the work from home, closed campus situation, many potential leaks of this sort of info aren't going to know anything. They aren't hanging in the halls outside Cirrie's nor Manning's office doors.

We will know when Currie is ready for us to know.

best post ever lol

Guys it’s lunch time —firings on Friday happen around 3-4 pm to blunt the weekday news cycle. I would speculate we here something at 3 pm Eastern time.

Not sure that really applies in the current media environment....

We could have fired him at any hour of any day this week or last and then news cycle would have been blunted bc of the pandemic. It is quite possibly the easiest time in the history of basketball to fire a coach if you are worried about headlines. If the firing actually take place, only the most hardcore of college basketball fans will even notice and even they will have moved back to pandemic coverage by the next day.

And it’s pretty weak to worry about negative coverage when you fire a coach who has won 41% of his games and give him a huge buyout.

Exactly. Nobody in the media or the general public gives two flying fucks about whether or not we fire our shitty basketball coach. Just more and more excuses for our AD's incompetence.

I guess they just really love getting ratio'd with stupid bullshit like this.

The only reason Currie would be trying to bury a news story is so people don't realize how inept he is when he announces that Manning is getting another year.

So much this. If they are worried about firing manning due to negative coverage then he isn’t getting fired. The guy sucks donkey balls. Keeping him is the negative play

Bold prediction: Currie fires Manning and announces that Thad Matta is Wake’s new B-ball coach effective Tuesday next week.

At this point I assume I’ll get an ESPN or Bleacher Report alert when this happens and I can stop being teased by people on here who are “in the know.”
