Manning Buyout Negotiations Have Begun

The reason why I say this, is because there is nothing positive to gain from this, from a PR perspective. If I was in his shoes, and knew that I had no choice but to bring him back for another year, I would want to relay as little information to the public as possible.

Lol ChrisTheDeacm89 vs Conor O’Neill, let’s see who has better #sources and a better feel for how the Wake Forest Athletic Department operates.

I still have a few contacts, but a lot of people have come and gone over the past year or so. I have no doubt he spends much more time with the newer folks there than I do.

Bro he is the fucking beat reporter. Nobody has any doubt about that. You’re embarrassing yourself even confronting him.

Oh right, that must be what you meant. I see now.

Oh, absolutely.

How do you think this works? Do you think Currie will skirt on what we've been told about getting interviews regardless of decision, and then spend the entire year without making a media comment once?

Of course not. But I could see this being delayed. My thought is that their preference would be for this to be a small interjection into a broader scope of an interview. Basically, a short and simple reply, and try to abstain from follow ups.

"Hey Conor, I'd like to move on to topic X,Y, and Z now..."

Chris going after TITS and Conor.

lol

Bless his sweet little heart.

"News incoming" !!!!!

Yeah, usually the subject being interviewed gets their preference as to the questions asked and how the story is reported. Good call.

I think at this point, I want Danny fired almost more to make fun of ChristheDeacm89 and bigboy than for the good of Wake hoops.

It’s cute that you think Danny Manning sends the tweets from his account. Muse tweeted at him and the lackey that runs his account responded. Nothing more. Good lord.

You think I want him back after another year of this? I always said I support the kids no matter what. But it's definitely time for a change of leadership now. I will gladly take all of the public ribbing if it means I'm wrong.

I remember reading Les spoke with someone in the AD on Friday evening, and was told no decision has been made quite yet. Sounds like Conor is hearing the same thing. From what I heard, it appeared something would come out Friday, but it didn’t. I was wrong, but I also don’t think Danny is being retained because the news didn’t come out Friday. Conor/Les and sportsnut are obviously the ones we should be paying the most attention to, as opposed to the sauces who have been wrong.

FWIW I haven't spoken to the individual I was talking to since sometime around noon on Friday. He knows that I put this stuff out here, so he obviously isn't going to tell me anything else for a reason.

I suspect the whole no spring sports, no on campus classes for the rest of the year, redo your budget etc. stuff has altered the timetable. Not to mention that the Moricles probably took major (at least on paper) hits to their wealth in the last two weeks. Probably not too eager to convert paper losses into actual losses.

So the Danny go-away fund may not be sufficiently robust.

Probably stated in one of the prior 132 pages, but I can't imagine DM gets let go when there's so much uncertainty about returning to school, etc.
