Oh man. The chili is playing hackysack with my colon. But in quarantine, it's easy to take conference calls from the pooper! #winning

Btw, Mit and I were the same year at Wake. He has at least one or two of his fraternity brothers who have worked with him from the start. Right out of school, or maybe while he was still in school, he pitched a planning board in metro Atlanta with a mini-golf facility that they were less that enthralled with. They told him they could really use a hotel, so he opened a Hampton Inn instead.

OTOH, I just got off the phone with a hotel broker and his shit is all fucked up.

I've got an old Bang & Olufsen that looks super sleek and sounded great for one of their lower tier mid-80s models, but my old one went on the fritz, I took it in, and the dude was like -- well, to fix this one it would be too expensive, but I've got an exact duplicate of the model, all you have to do is lightly tap on the headshell to get it too fully engage, but now something is all fucked up with one of the channels, and I don't know shit about shit, and have just been too lazy to do anything about it, which is stupid.

forgot to reply to this...Thorens turntable, Marantz amp

Thanks....that's high end stuff...you should really enjoy it.

If you don't have speakers, see if you can find some old Yamaha book shelf speakers. They were very reasonable and had exceptional tone. In the mid-80s, they were often out of stock as many studios used them as monitors over JBL.

B&O had some amazing set-ups. For a while, you could only buy them in their own showrooms. Some were decoration level cool looking. They were incredibly efficient. In an era of amps with many hundreds of watts, B&O got more out of 60-150W gear than the stupidly powered ones.

Did you listen to the discussion ? He's got a 10-year hold strategy and can ride out a 10% hit to RevPAR. Now, they're taking a 90%+ hit right now in a lot of cases, but with the amount of leverage they use, the term, and the markets they serve, it sounds like they're still going to be fine.

There's gonna be a big rebound of extended stay business travel to 3rd tier southern cities like Charlotte on the horizon?

This dude Hal Willner who just died of corona had a helluva run

Produced for Lou Reed and Marianne Faithful, worked for SNL for a long time, seemed to be friends with the beats and helped them with spoken word records. What a life.

Yeah I need speakers. Once I get out of quarantine I’ll try to get it all fixed up.

Train to Busan is not a good movie to watch while quarantined.

I made a very good decision completely overhauling/upgrading my music set-up in the weeks before quarantine. Naim amp & streamer, rega planar 3, and currently switching between some KEF Q350s and LS50s (latter is on loan since the local shop I got them from is closed down for the time being and let me borrow them as a favor). Ended up spending a lot more than my initial budget but thankfully it all went to local peeps, presumably in a time when they're gonna need it.

Also completely re-arranged my office to support a better speaker placement set-up. Had to partially block my best window but #worthit.

Catching up on the music portions of this thread and throwing music into the queue has been a joy

Carson Daly should clean up his fuckin' back porch if he's going to broadcast in front of all of America. Side note, I don't like Wednesdays because my wife is in charge of the morning tv.
