Lord of the Rings Mafia by Townie ft. Gooner & WFU; Civs Lose

1) the Phial had nothing to do with destroying the ring
2) why would the forces of darkness want the phial as they pretty clearly don't want to destroy the ring? presumably because you can no longer give it to Frodo i guess.

1) It helped along the way, but agreed, idk.
2) I'm assuming it has to go with the "game state" part of the phrasing. If the forces of darkness get the ring, I'm assuming the game isnt over until a certain game state has been met. That's why i figured it was best to just come out with it since I won't be passing the Phial now that Frodo is dead. Also the part about alerting if i received the ring was kinda big too

I won’t claim to know a ton about LOTR, but you inspired me to go look it up.

He also used it while entering into Mordor to defend himself from the spider Shelob. When Shelob first approached, Sam reminded him of the "star-glass" and its light drove her away.

It would be a super odd role, and one that would seem to not make any sense. He needs to give something to one specific character, but can also give it to others. The apparent ring passing/giving mechanism in this game is the only thing stopping me from just switching to SD3.

i agree on the alerting and it lines up with galadriel.

***SD3***

Nonny, this is a bad vote. Justify this vote in light of post #673 you saying you don't like Parlay and SD3 SUPER CLEARING post in #551.

I literally stopped reading here

The ring isn't passed during the day, so if a rando maf member is lynched OR EVEN IN DANGER OF BEING LYNCHED, then they cannot pass the ring.

The "only way" for *us* (chuckle, nice one nonny) to get the ring back isn't by a night hit.

STOOPID. But more importantly, misleading.

I guess I have to ignore GTB's stupid middle school humor (nice YOUR MOM joke, btw, bro. Did you even take a full 5 minutes to come up with it?)

and

***switch to nonny***

My role's description of night 6/ring destruction is the same as Frodo's aka Eagles' aka the one true king that JayTerps recognize. Now, I realize that nobody else has any reason to believe me, but those that got that writeup in their pre-game PM know that part stuck out to you too.

DV7 is civ. He's going to be killed at night, fyi. Mafia is going to be icing potential ring bearers left and right. Terrible play to out that you have this power.

Alright I wasn't sure how I wanted to play this but with a few votes on me (and a meeting coming up) I don't see many reasons not to claim now.

I am Lady Galadriel, holder of the Phial of Galadriel. Each night, I may search for Frodo and offer him the Phial. If I succeed to give it to him, when he try's to destroy the ring, no matter the game state, it will be destroyed without failure. Frodo is the only member of the fellowship that can receive and use the Phial. The forces of darkness can also receive the Phial if I mistakingly pass it to them.

Because of my infinite wisdom and knowledge, I am not able to bear the ring without recourse. If the ring is passed to me, the forces of darkness will immediately be alerted to its presence.

I may be playing this wrong but oh whale, there you go.

You as a civ was obvious to everyone competent. Nonny is mafia, so he didn't care. DV7 is a mouth breather, so he doesn't read words good.

***switch to parlay***

This is the most civ thing Nonny has done all game. The Nonny-is-Mafia reads could be special coming off weird. I'm going to back burner him.

To be clear, Parlay comign back bad is like 100% at this point. His immediate switch off of SD3 screams "I already knew that."

Just because Parlay comes back bad, doesn't mean that Nonny is clear; especially if Parlay is just a goon.

This seems really small brained. Per Frodos write up, he could start trying to destroy the ring night 6. He could not destroy it unless there were 2 or less darkness players remaining, unless he had the Phial. Then it would work without fail on night 6. I do not know what power the mafia would have received if I passed it to them instead

I read it as he can give it to frodo but if he just searches willy-nilly and hits maf instead, its over.

No matter if Charlie Murphy and his ilk get the ring, Sauron and his Forces of Darkness will still need to get numbers close to even to win regardless of if they possess the ring or not.

Pretty sure everyone in the game can bear the ring. Evidently some players have issues or enhancements if they have it. Why didn't you come at me in your SD3 rant? I am the first on him, and while his claim makes sense, my logic in that post remains.

My readthrough of this day so far is a lot of game mechanic discussion

Spin me a tail of the difference between Nonny, Redwing, Bym, and Parlay. Because I like all four for bad guys.

I like Ph (duh), SD3, and Damo for civs.

Goaliemom, why is your husband being weird?
