New coaching search thread

The last scoop I thought I had was when my doc told me he had spoken to a Kelsey family member and Kelsey was 100% being named the next coach at X the next day. To my surprise, the other guy got the job. So sources are funky sometimes. During the same conversation, it was said how much Kelsey loves Wake and he wold love to be our HC.

Didn't Roy make some comments along these lines just days (maybe weeks) before he was announced as the new head coach in Chapel Hill?

Saying "I don't give a shit about Carolina right now" to the media as he's walking off the court after a loss is different than holding a team meeting.

That said, things and circumstances can change. I just know the meeting happened.

i love a good coaching search. So much less HOPE than the last time around though

I believe it was a Wellman policy that for JUCOs to come to Wake they had to originally qualify out of high school. I don't believe that's a blanket school policy.

What is wrong with JUCO players?

Can WFU admit a qualified JUCO player?

Wake has academic policies that limit to almost zero JuCo athletes at Wake.

1. Individual had to be fully qualified coming out of high school.

2. Wake accepts very few JuCo credits as meeting Wake standards. Therefore, JuCo transfers do not meet NCAA requirements for number of acceptable credit hours completed to be juniors. Hence they are "academically ineligible." This was discussed in great detail on the baseball team threads. It is a huge issue for Wake baseball because of professional baseball draft eligibility rules.

The notion that someone isn't an "academic guy" after Manning graduated virtually no one in six years embodies the Wake administration's aloofness and hypocrisy

6000 extra tickets sold at $30 in revenues (tix/concessions/parking) times 18 home games= $3.2434M more that we were Daniel before we bank penny in extra money

MATTA would EASILY pay for himself at $5M.
I know you're parodying, but in this case, Matta WOULD pay for himself.

I have a hard time believing Currie negotiated a buyout in half and fired Manning during a worldwide pandemic to hire Tommy Amaker. He understands the fanbase more than our past administration.

Goodman has Miller or Forbes.
donaldross has Amaker or Kelsey
I don't know know who Les has listed

Will be interesting to see who has the sauces
