Old School Nintendo Game Thread - Game Open - Day 123 Ends at 1:30 PM EST

I don't disagree with either of those points, but they also come in the context of a limited pool of potential lynches which is partially due to the vig hits. And honestly, the civ specials faking their roles were in ways that were all pretty much impossible to be mafia so they weren't really question marks.

Gooner: The civ specials faking their roles were in ways that were all pretty much impossible to be mafia
Narrator: One of the civ specials was lynched.

Nah, we had three civ specials slow playing their reveal and faking parts of it - there were plenty of question marks left. Bym got killed because he had nothing clearing in an ISO and a bad vote history and doofus got killed because tic ISO'd him and he squirmed like crazy.

I got got because I came out steaming mad about the play of the civs to lynch bym instead of manning and rocket, who had horrific civ claims.

tic iso'd me after that, was wrong with literally everything he said (I was not mafia 1, so all his inferences were wrong), and he got me anyway because I was mafia 2.

lol that's on the civs and everything that happened after that is what I meant. I forget who but someone wrote up all the claims and non-claims with like 11-13 players left and there was only like 4 people who hadn't claimed something, at least 3 of which were bym/doof/northern

Right, but that refutes your "impossible to be mafia" quote. Not saying it was a good lynch, just that there were civ options to push on as mafia. Mako and Manning did a good job the last couple of rounds righting the ship.

Aw, hoop. You know I love you ♥️ But be nice. You, ryala, gooner, and northern were got early by eagles, parlay and I. The mess of votes on rommy threw Townie and his shady play and doofus and his repeat mafia performance from Stephen King into the mix. Goalie and I called out bym as well. Jman took me the longest. Feel free to go back and look if you want. That is literally every mafia not dead by the start of day 2 I had lined up before I died. (I thought overly bitching about civ specials would be a too obvious thing that a civ special wouldn’t do. WIFOM. Rommy, did I use that right?) Not bragging, stating a fact. It was all there for anyone to go back and see (shoutout GM!) and I had no revenge vote like you claim parlay had. You/Ryala/northern/Gooner were just too wrapped up and involved early on. I even told Gooner to sort it out while he was being all helpful. So to say parlay was on you for a revenge vote is just silly and wrong. Parlay played a great game.

Have I ever mentioned I love me some QT?

That's just not true. Losing a civ is not necessarily a bad thing for civs. The civ vigs in this game, which hit 3 civs and 0 maf, were probably +EV because they gave civs extra kills, which they used to hit people who otherwise were lynch candidates (which likely leads to more than 3 civ deaths!). There are some which are -EV (see SD3 suiciding into a hit on GAT last week), but in general this board way underrates the power of civ vigs.

Shit. I don't even know what +ev/-ev means (I do technically but I just don't care that much to put thought into whether it is or not), I just wanted to sound like I fit in with the cool kids.

Speaking of which -- ryala, come east. Cambridge, Md. You can find waterfront property for the price of a studio apt where you are and have money leftover for water toys. Nothing like waking up and looking out at the water.

There's like a billon better places i'd rather look at the water than in Maryland

I mean, its not a permanent move. Its just until the office opens back up. Going all the way to the east coast is hard with the dog and transporting some of the WFH supplies that we'll need. I think anything within 500-600 miles of SF is basically fair game. The other constraint is that it needs to be drivable through something resembling civilization because we are obvs left coast hippie libs who have an electric car.

Also considering Portland because it's basically the best city in America, but the whole point is because we can save like $10k in rent over the next few months (maybe $20k if WFH extends to end of year!) in random towns, and would probably save less in Portland.

Speaking of Portland, has anyone ever been to Portland, Maine? Or north of that to Acadia?

Yeah. Maine is one of the prettiest places I’ve been. Acadia, and especially Cadillac Mountain, is gorgeous. Baxter State Park is great too.

Ahhh. Thought you were moving to WFH permanently. Vancouver is supposed to be awesome as well.

I'm going to give you a beer perspective here but, yes, great food and great breweries. There is an awesome resort that's southeast of Portland called The Cliff House. Spectacular place and close to Portland, Kennebunkport and Portsmouth, NH (an underrated spot). We can't wait to go back.

Nothing that hasn't been said, but Portland is like the quintessential awesome new england beach town/city. Great food, good beer. Never been north, but have a bunch of friends that go to Bar Harbor - I think its super snooty, but supposed to be crazy amazing.

Also, props to parlay above, Portsmouth is a great town too, not like a place you need to stay for a week, but they have some really cool music spots, and more great beer and a ton of hippie libtards that open super cool restaurants and shops.

Plus, there are a few streets where you feel like you are transported back to the 18th century. A piece of advice from the locals --- go in Early May or mid-Sept and beat the crowds. Everything will be open but you won't need reservations weeks out, traffic won't suck, etc. We went in April and it was awesome but still pretty chilly and Kennebunkport has just begun to have a few things open.
