Isn't it the specific combination with Zinc that makes it somewhat effective? That's what they need to study, not each pill individually.

The big study looked at chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine separately and combination ofchloroquine or hydroxychloroquine with antibiotics, specifically azithromycin and clarithromycin. Zinc combination has not been previously reported as useful.

Every one of the "local doctors" who reported anecdotally has the combination of HCQ & Zinc. I'm not a scientist but the way that they explained it is that HCQ opens up the path for the Zinc to do battle against COVID-19.

It's gonna be Cotton, maybe Hawley. They're polished versions of the right-wing populism candidate but still know how to hit all the right trigger points that get the MAGA folks riled up. Cotton was ringing the bells about COVID in January during impeachment.

Unfortunately, I think you're probably right. Trumpites will get out to vote for Trump no matter what, and Fox and the GOP propaganda machine will have them at a fever pitch of resentment and anger and fear by election day. Given the GOP advantages in the Electoral College, Biden will probably have to win the national popular vote by at least 3 to 4 points to have a chance of winning the EC (Hillary won by 2 points and still lost, albeit barely.) The Democratic base is larger than the Trumpite/GOP base, but it's concentrated in too few states and often simply doesn't turn out the way the GOP base does, which often mitigates their numerical advantage. We're living in dark times, and I'm not just talking about the pandemic. Maybe the thought of having Trump in office for another four years will drive up Democratic turnout in November, but I'm not counting on it.

I share your concerns but I am hoping the thought of another 4 years of Trump far outweighs any lack of enthusiasm for Biden.

I would personally risk getting covid19, crawl through a tunnel of shit and pass a kidney stone on the other side to vote against Trump.

A majority of the gop electorate believes that the entire planet cooked up a global pandemic to “get trump”. It’s a cult dude, time to accept that. The rubes LOVE djt. They don’t tolerate him. They don’t hold their noses and vote for him. They adore him.

He's gonna lose, he can have his loyal fanbase and still get his ass kicked. That's what's going to happen. After Biden won South Carolina, I've never seen Dem voters mobilize behind a candidate that quickly on Super Tuesday.

I disagree with your thesis about the cruelty being the point. Democrats think EVERY Republican is cruel. That's why we have the term "bleeding heart liberal."

My favorite thing I saw on facebook recently was a local restaurant owner claiming that this was all a conspiracy to destroy small business America and that the virus doesn't exist. He's gotten national attention! It's nuts!

Biden won't be running in 2024. If it's not his VP, I'd love it to be Katie Porter.

Yeah. He’s cruel for the weak people who don’t have the balls to be cruel in person. It’s a sort of wish fulfillment.

All it took for people on the right to dismiss COVID-19 once the numbers started piling up was knowing that it was disproportionately impacting the elderly, minorities, and people with preexisting conditions. They see themselves as above that even the ones who are old.

Cotton held up the nomination the ambassador to the Bahamas until she died because she was friends with Obama.

I don't think he'll be the guy because he's too much of a doofus, but he's absolutely a piece of shit..

Which Republicans aren't cruel, Brews?

The North Dakota governor seems all right, but mainly because he doesn't seem like he's wearing a human suit like the rest of them. Congressional Republicans have rubber stamped Trump's cruelty. Susan Collins is concerned, but still very cruel.
