Cotton held up the nomination the ambassador to the Bahamas until she died because she was friends with Obama.

I don't think he'll be the guy because he's too much of a doofus, but he's absolutely a piece of shit..

He speaks like a mortician and has the charisma of a C-SPAN narrator but he is smart. Really smart.

I'm not surprised by much, but Brews outing himself as a conservative donk in this climate is a bit surprising to me

I haven't really given any policy thoughts here other than I think Biden will win and then Cotton will beat him in 4 years after Biden overpromises and underdelivers. I've also said that it's amazing that people think that a virus that has killed 100k people is a hoax.

I don't speak for any Republicans, just like you probably don't speak for the Antifa LARPers who think they are revolutionaries when they are just dorks dressed in black.

It still blows my mind that Republicans demonize anti-fascists who only show up to be against fascists.

Demographics keep working against Republican candidates, particularly hardcore conservatives who have gotten into bed with Donald Trump every 4 years is going to make their path to the WH more difficult.

I’ve been hearing for a decade that demographics are turning against Republicans, and yet they keep winning. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Brews has always been conservative. This isn’t a surprise.

I've always had a healthy skepticism of the effectiveness of the Federal Government but one line in President Obama's first inaugural address has stuck with me:

"The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works."

The Federal Government right now is not working in the midst of arguably the worst crisis in our lifetimes. It could have worked. It should have worked. We know why it didn't and hasn't, because there's someone who takes "No Responsibility at All" and doesn't care to make any mistakes trying to fix it.

So as i've get older and started to tally up all of my beliefs and I believe "Hey, having no Federal response to a Pandemic and being proud of it is bad" but also think "Yes, clearly we need to fix the looming threat of Climate Change" and also believe that 'black lives matter why is that a debate" and that "you shouldn't be discriminated against because of your sexual orientation or gender" and all sorts of other stuff that is considered a Democratic position when they shouldn't be I can't really tell you what I am.

I still hate taxes, I guess? On the other hand, Jeff Bezos having a trillion dollars with no counterbalancing forces sounds like a shitty idea too.

They're idiots who get violent because they have the benefit of a mob behind them. They are not revolutionaries, they are troubled.

Coronavirus / Bad Flu 69 !!

One reason they win is simple voter suppression. The demographic changes will take hold over the next two decades as the old boomers die and majority-minority under 18 cohorts are voting. I don’t see any evidence that Gen X and Millennials will become more conservative as they get older like Boomers did. Boomers were very impressionable and Reagan and Fox News did a number on them.

This crisis may accelerate that change by increasing mortality among 70+ and poking more holes in conservative orthodoxy.

The trend of more people voting for Dems than Pubs has continued to tilt toward Democrats. Pubs have benefited from the electoral college, state makeup and gerrymandering.

The Pubs have won one popular vote total in a presidential election by 3 million votes since 1988.

antifa LARPers

again, not surprised that Brews is conservative

just surprised that he's picked this moment, of all moments, to come out as a conservative #notallconservatives donk

It sounds like you might not be in lockstep with today's Republican party

I'm also not sure that Tom Cotton believes most of those propositions in your fourth paragraph

Also, being good at school doesn't always equal smart, just fyi

An inept federal government seems to be the goal of many in the Republican party. Sounds to me based on your post here that you should be a moderate democrat.

TITCR

The electorate is an intentional construction of policy and general political malice. Mass incarceration disenfranchised a sizable chunk of the electorate and both parties collaborating for the interests of the rich and well off probably accounts for another sizable chunk of the electorate. Republicans nationwide have been purging voter rolls by the millions and making it increasingly difficult for the most vulnerable in society to get to the polls.

PH is right about this crisis. It's tearing the mask off of American democracy, that's for damn sure.
