Yeah, what the hell is an upside down 69? It's either just standing, or reverse. I don't know how I typed that. It makes no sense. It just kind of scanned better with "your mother is an upstanding..."
 
Bream are tasty if you fry them right, bro. Crappie are always delicious.
 
I’ve always hated the spelling of bream. It should be brim. And what the fuck kind of name for a fish is Crappie? I catch the hell outta them but they’re both lame names.
 
I pronounced it “croppie” and also called them sunfish instead of brim (when I was unlucky enough to catch them). My pan fish hierarchy went crappie > bluegill > sunfish as far as how happy I was to catch them.
 
The LAPD Commission has been hosting Zoom calls where citizens can call up and discuss things for a 2 minute window. There are 7 hours of these calls. Apparently a lot of them went like this. Not safe for work. Nearly turn off your volume.

have also always said croppie

we stayed at a cabin in NW NC when we were kids and caught a whole bucket of the ugliest fish we'd ever seen, but my dad couldn't identify them, and we were bringing them home to clean and walked past a local and asked him if he knew what they were and in the deepest drawl i've ever heard to this day he said "y'all ain't from around here are ya? them's hornyheads."

i think about it every time i fish
 
I've cooked and eaten about every freshwater fish out there, except not crappie, surprisingly. Fished a ton growing up, especially with my grandfather who was a farmer & big time outdoorsman. My rankings are:

1) Channel/Blue catfish
2) Striped Bass
3) Trout (all kinds)
4) Walleye
5) Flathead catfish (only smaller ones)
6) Perch
7) Bream/Bluegill/Sunfish
8) Largemouth bass

I knew what you were talking about before you got to the name. They croak too when you’re getting them off the hook. I hate those things.
 
The LA police commission zoom is amazing. Love the woman who has to keep thanking the callers.
 
I've only been fishing a handful of times in my life; maybe 5 times but definitely less than 10. And I don't think I've been fishing since I was in middle school. But it seems kind of weird to me since it seems like something I would enjoy.
 
I grew up saltwater fishing. Usually inland where we caught mainly white trout, red fish, croaker. but we would go out in the gulf and troll and sometimes bottom fish on wrecks. Seems like 90% of the time when trolling we caught Spanish Mackerel which I hated eating since they're so oily but now I absolutely love Mackerel sushi. lot of red snapper, mahi, king mackerel, triggerfish, sometimes small tuna. never been billfishing but always wanted to.
