Cold War Spy Mafia Game Thread: GAME OVER CIVS WIN

Tell this to dv7

holeeeee shit

again, I had you as a heavy civ lean

but you saying you were more clear than rommy/manning/bym/redwing/myself was fucking insane. That was a block of 5 tied together vs you and your posts/moscow chatzy comments.

Stop being so obtuse.

There were a lot of interesting ideas. But there needed to be vanilla civs, fewer civ jobs, and/or more recruitables to keep it from being a claim off. The game was basically, "Are you mafia?" "No. I'm the farmer." "Oh I'm a farmer too." "Cool. I'm a factory worker." The role reveals made it clear what claims were legit and how few people could be recruited.

The way I see it, the game is almost broken open. Redwing, GM, d14, jtp, GAT, and SD3 are the only ones who haven't claimed. One is the British mafia, two are Indys, one is the Soviet farmer, one is the British politician. One is probably the Soviet vanilla.

I didn't make a night move because it was clear my only shot at winning was to replace one of the worker roles with my silent kill. And I wanted better odds to avoid investigating or hitting an anti-town.

I was Nate and Charlie, both were me very briefly checking in to see if there was anything worth while going on. I basically abandoned the chats Sunday night.

FUCK JHAWK WE ARE MORTAL ENEMIES NOW

HAHAHAHA BOOM!

Who killed me and why? Y’all could’ve swayed the hell out of me. I was a goddamn babe in the woods

jhawk and gooner getting guns in mafia

Jhawk admitting he was recruitable in cafe and killing gooner with a faulty weapon were the best two parts of this game

I hit you. At that point you were one of the few that had an absolutely unassailable claim as a farmer/factory worker. There was no way to win the game with you still in it. I guess if you're saying I should have hit Gat instead and tricked you into a mislynch that's fair, but I know the joy you get from being night hit

Fun game, I didnt do a good job in my role. I think this is the case of reading everything that is states before jumping into the game. I was offline all weekend so when I finally got online Sunday evening I kinda rushed into the game.

Recruited: PH, Mako and then Gooner. By the night 2 recruitment, I had a good handle on the chats and who was what, too bad that gooner was already recruited and I died day 3.

I started trying to mess around in both chats with truths and misinformation and wasnt paying close attention to the thread. I checked and saw I was in a 3 way tie and panicked to move my vote onto one of the people I was tied with. I should have held my vote to the buzzer and I know I would have had a successful recruitment of JTP, I could have then died the next day for the vote switch and still kept my faction alive.

But I really liked the idea behind the 2 chatzys and how to manipulate them for benefit. I just didnt do that until it was too late.

You’re a sweet, sweet boy.

Also to GAT, i mentioned in the thread but working out the factions as you did was a basic menu of who the mafia should NOT recruit. Thats what I was pointing out during the game.

the first part was really dumb by me but I thought about it and thought it was fun to just go with it and see what happens

I think GAT viewed it best as “there’s no way a role exists that can win the game by getting lynched on D1.”

Most times that role has an independent win condition, I don’t know that I’ve seen it in big games where it ends when they get voted out. rom can check me on that though

I kinda wish I had taken more of your approach and paid attention to the chatzys. Gooner and I had a conversation early on that there didn't seem to be much to gain from being in there, so we stopped going, but I think that may have been the wrong approach.
