*starts watching Trey Lance highlights*

*Need to immediately see the replay where I hopped 6 inches straight up in the air and waved the fucking ball around, so I don’t make that mistake again*

So is Rhule actually a good coach? Man the in game shit this season has been mind boggling...

We can do better than Lance

Draft spot wise, we can get any QB besides Lawrence or Fields. But Lance's highlights look very promising. He looks like a prototypical modern QB. A bigger Lawrence at a lower level of competition. He has a high ceiling.

Frustrating thing with Teddy is that he seems to have all the fundamentals and arm talent necessary to be excellent, but there’s just something about his game that’s lacking. If Cam had those mechanics and footwork he’d be a Hall of Fame QB.

He’s been demonstratively worse since coming back from injury.

I'm talking about his injury this season. The last few games. I was for sticking with Teddy a month ago. Now I'm 50-50 between taking a QB in the first or not. I'll probably get to 80-20 if this keeps up.

Nice effort in the second. I'm really encouraged by how good the defense can be for a quarter or two at a time. I feel like experience will help that happen over entire games.

Curtis Samuel probably cost himself a few FA dollars today. He looked awful.

Panthers dominate on D in 2nd half. Might've won the game if they ran the ball to Davis on 1st and Goal at the 1 earlier.

Okay, so name that person. Lawrence and Fields are gone. Do you believe in Jones, Trask or Wilson over Lance? Or do you think you can land a pro QB via trade or free agency? QBs like Garoppolo, Rodgers or Stafford could well be on the move, but Carolina is an extremely unlikely destination for any of those guys via a trade. You've already moved on from Cam, so he's not coming back. You could opt for a reclamation project like Darnold, Jameis or Haskins and hope they realize their potential under Rhule. You might could make a good case for bringing in Darnold for a mid round pick under Rhule's and Bridgewater's tutelage. Jameis is the opposite of Bridgewater and could be interesting. I wouldn't touch Haskins. Tyrod Taylor could be available, but he's essentially Bridgewater (game manager and mentor) with much better wheels. You also could go after Dalton, but why bother at his age when you are building a young team. Maybe Carr or Mariota? Who knows wtf Gruden is thinking.

The way I look at it, I think Rhule is a good coach. He did wonders at 2 college programs, and Carolina's roster was considered to be about the worst in the league going into the season, but they've competed pretty darn well. I seriously doubt you are going to have a pick in the 4-7 range in the next few years. So if you're going to draft a QB, this is probably your best opportunity. I haven't watched BYU, but I don't trust Trask as a legit NFL starter, and Mac Jones has the best OL and WRs in the game - kinda hard to know how good he really is.

Too bad Carson Wentz isn't now who he once was. Of course if he were he wouldn't be potentially available. Massive contract too.

I'm guessing if he goes anywhere, it's Indy to reunite with Reich. I wouldn't give up Wentz. He played great down the stretch last year with no WRs on the roster. This year he's again missing his 2 best WRs and 3 of their top 6 O-linemen. He's had the crap beaten out of him. Maybe he's just tanked lately due to 2 years of David Carr treatment. I think he could be good again in the right situation. That said, I don't know the cap implications in terms of who could afford to take over his contract. You wouldn't have to give up much in terms of draft picks because it'd be seen as dumping a contract. If Hurts continues to look decent, I would bet on Philly looking to unload Wentz. This could end up being another year with a lot of QB movement.

Root for the Cowboys, Texans, and Falcons today to create some distance for the #4 pick. Eagles as well.

Falcons were up 10 and I think the Texans were driving to tie when I posted that. The Falcons did what they Falcons do.
