we've lost 2 offensive position coaches to SEC OC jobs this week -- OL coach Marcus Satterfield to South Carolina

Yes, now this one is a no brainer imo. NFL RB is the most replaceable position in all of sports. NFL QB is the most valuable position in all of sports.

You instalock this trade in if given the chance (Texans say no 100/100 times)

Yeah, if Houston gives up a top-5 receiver and a top-5 quarterback for two running backs in back-to-back off seasons (even with a decent draft haul, which they didn't really get in last year's trade anyway), their fans may burn down the stadium.

I probably say no to that to be honest. Saints should do it. Not us.

Saints don't have the draft capital with a very late 1st rounder. I don't think the Panthers do either with pick #8. Houston has to get a QB in return. 1 potentially QB needy team that has the capital is NYJ. They could trade Darnold and this year's 2 1sts. You then take Sewell at #2 and another good position player with the other and start your rebuild that way. If you're Houston, you are rebuilding with or without Watson, so I can see them doing what Miami did 1-2 years ago. Pick up what you can for Watson, cut JJ and trade Mercilus for a pick and start the total rebuild.

Teddy + 2021 1st + some other stuff not another 1st round pick

Houston aint taking Darnold and change for Watson

Teddy + 2021 1st + some other stuff not another 1st round pick

Houston sure as hell aint taking Teddy Bridgewater and less change for Watson

Doesn't Watson have to approve the trade? He's not going to approve a trade to the Jets.

Teddy + 2021 1st is going to need several more 1st or CMC with it.

I think 4 1sts would be the absolute floor. Maybe 3 1sts and 2-3 2nds. If you arent in that range, theyre hanging up the phone.

Tell him we'll do a preseason game or 2 at Clemson

Yeah, the big problem with these trades is you can't find a team the guy would actually want to play for once you trade him for perceived market value. He can play for his current team and suck for the next two years with no draft picks or play someplace else and suck for the next two years with no draft picks. He's probably tradeable in a couple of years or he'll be a 30-year old UFA in 2026.

Then draft Fields/Wilson at #2 and throw in a 2nd with the 2 1sts. Then trade Darnold for a pick. And he'll approve a trade to the Jets if he likes their coaching hire. The Jets, Phins and Jags are the teams with the draft capital to pull this off. The Phins aren't giving up Tua, and why would the Jags want Watson's contract when they could have the best prospect since Luck on a 5 year rookie deal.

Joe Brady with inside shot at Falcons job. Good.

Tom Brady and Brees ain’t gonna play forever, Joe Brady with a solid chance of fumbling with the Falcons. Division is ours for the taking in the years to come.

Would rather have Brady out of the division. But hopefully we can draft a good QB to take advantage of this. Just like with Forbes and the ACC legend coaches on the brink of retirement.

Brady with less experience than Zac Taylor (go Deacs) and McVay when they were hired. He wasn’t even the OC at LSU.

I like the guy and was happy with him in OC capacity. But I don’t think he’s ready yet.

There’s an alternate future where a healthy Cam leads the Panthers to the playoffs with Heinecke as his steady backup. Heinecke is a solid QB.

He’s practically Wolford-esque

We have the #3 pick if Heinecke plays the whole game against us two weeks ago.
