Investment Thread - For all your money needs

So, I'm just a lowly history major with a law degree, but they:

1. Let people invest in whatever they wanted
2. Then told people they couldn't invest any more in GME and could only sell (effectively trying to lower the market price for GME)
3. Then just flat out sold shares in GME without asking the person

I'd love to hear how they thought this plan of action would be well received.

if there is any truth to these Twitter rumors that Griffin reloaded his short position before Robinhood closed up shop on GME then that seems like a pretty big deal

From the numbers thrown around on twitter, it looks like *someone* doubled down their short bet today.

Lol when I type "How to transfer..." into google the first autofill is "How to transfer stocks from robinhood"

Robinhood has always been a piece of shit place to trade, for a myriad of reasons.

I'm sure when you sign up for an account, there is all kind of legal shit that nobody ever reads that allows them to pull shit like this.

I am not at all justifying anything that has happened today, but Robinhood has always sucked. The way they brand themselves is not an accurate reflection of how it works. I hope it goes tits up due to this fiasco.

Technically depending on the wording and action RH could be legally in the clear to sell the shares at any price they deemed acceptable to prevent loss. So in that scenario that LK posted if original shares were bought at 100. Sketchy as fuck though so throw it in the pile. Also interesting that people are just now finding out the RH is a huge data miner and also allows the big players like hedge funds to put in options before users transactions go through.

Note - not my account. But screenshots like that are popping up on twitter where Robinhood forced a sale of their shares even if they intended to hold through this mess.

That is theft.

Were they on margin? If so, then that seems natural.

Given I'm allocated 75% to Silver, I welcome the news that the redditors are trying to target that next.

I am transferring my positions on robinhood to another account except for my long position on dogecoin

and maybe i'll get some NBA topshots.

total bullshit, wallstreetbets just LIKED a stock and then got the whole system against them

gotta get dogecoin on another NASCAR to pump that shit

After a night of digesting the news...this had fuck all to do with fear of being sued and everything to do with their financial viability.

The dogecoin shit is misdirection trying to lure people put of the shorted meme stonks.

Follow the money, always. They were stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Elon added #Bitcoin to his twitter profile overnight

Elon's Musk is pungent. HODL.

I saw some people putting some REAL money in it. I would never put more than what I would on a hand of blackjack in a memecoin and I wouldn't go long on it.

the TopShot NFTs are pretty cool though. Nonny is on to something with those. John Collins always has valuable moments (like $50 plus)

The people pumping it are the same ones going after the suits?

Exactly, they aren't aware of cap gains taxes.
