I mean do y’all not love your dog enough to cry in Marley & Me? Bunch of bums

My wife makes so much fun of me for crying in movies. I cry enough for the both of us.

THAT scene from Toy Story 3? WHEW

I also like to just throw on music and cry sometimes. Team EMO for life

I remember watching Manchester by the Sea and my wife just bawling and looking at me as if it were my fault. "WHY ARE WE WATCHING THIS? THIS ISN'T FUN!"

my wife is the same way. she doesn't usually like to watch a lot of the Oscar movies for the exact reason you quoted. it's also why she likes a lot of procedurals on TV, everything nicely wrapped up in the end.

I still suck at golf, but I would suck a lot less had I actually started working on it in high school. And my high school buddy's dad literally owns Jefferson Landing, so the high school team's home course was a top 50 course in the state. But I played boring ass baseball on a gravel infield because most of my friends did and they expected me to.

I played golf in HS in Mako country. I was 2-time conference player of the year and, in retrospect, I wasn't very good. I mean, I was decent, but, half of the spring season up there was played in frigid temperatures and snow. The courses sucked. Most of the competition was not good. My senior year we had a couple of other decent players and our team was undefeated in the conference, winning matches by an avg. of over 40 strokes. We didn't come close to qualifying for states - though I did manage to qualify as an individual one year.

I tried to walk on at Wake and that was a huge waste of time. They didn't take any walk-ons. I didn't play well but even if I had played my best they weren't taking me. Maybe if I had blown them away with a few 68s or something - but that wasn't happening....

I cry at the end of Con Air every time the little girl won't take the bunny and Faith Hill is singing.

Finally finished the crossword at 40:58. Man that was a tough one. Upper right corner killed me

I love golf! I just suck at it.

I played the entire summer leading up to my kid being born and the lowest round I got was a 91 on the championship course at tanglewood. My all time best round is 86, which included a hole in one on a 165 yard par 3

The best part of golf is the bird watching.

All this talk of high school sports (wrestling especially, as per usual I am way behind on the chat thread) makes me really glad I did theater in high school.

You would love our course. We have a huge bald eagle nest and every once in a while I see one grab a fish out of the lake. We must have a zillion blue herons and they all nest in this one group of trees - in the spring the noise of the chicks and parents is deafening. We have geese and ducks and a pair of black swans and a ton of loons as well. One day I watched a group of 20-30 loons corralling fish and feeding like crazy - every time one went down it popped up with a good-sized fish - I must have stood and watched them for 10 minutes...

I can't remember the last time I cried during a movie, but goddamn those Rinaldi type pieces involving kids get me every time.

One day last summer I watched a large hawk chase a magpie into a tree. The hawk sat on top of the tree while the magpie was in the cover of the branches raising absolute hell. The group in front of us was playing slow so I got to watch the whole thing for 10-15 minutes; not sure how it all ended as the hawk was still sitting atop the tree with the magpie trapped in the branches as we moved on.

I cry at everything but an older movie called My Life had us passing tissues back and forth between us and struggling not to sob out loud. Do not recommend. My Girl also gets me everytime... clearly.

I tear up a lot more since I became a dad, but one that made me out and out sob recently was The Midnight Sky. I was totally in on it and the end just hit me like a freight train
