this is how I feel. also I despise how Vegas is still one of the few places to allow smoking everywhere. like just walking to get to your room you have to go through the casino and get doused in smoke.

my sister moved there last year and seems to like it, but they haven't been to the Strip since moving there (though she's been there a bunch) and they've done a lot of outdoorsy stuff.

yeah the smoking is kiiinda annoying, really more just kind of wild when you're not used to it (weird that it was basically allowed like that everywhere for a huge chunk of my childhood).. but i did feel like the open-ness of the casinos and good air circulation helped make it not totally overbearing, i would defs move to a different table/area if someone was tryna light up a cig right next to me tho

what can you do in vegas that you can't do in new orleans?

Sports betting, a variety of decent entertainment options.

And Vegas can be a very luxe vacation if you want. NOLA much less so.

NOLA is just a million times more interesting

I get tons of ads for these Good Jones cookware that are like 8 pans in 1 -- no way it does any one thing well, right?

Vegas isn't anywhere near as much fun as it used to be. The bean counters are in control. You get charged for total bullshit. Resort fees-fuck them. Parking- Jesus is this offensive. Getting comped is a joke these days. Hell, you have to get "coupons" for drinks at sports/race books. Vegas' new management gives whores a bad name,

So the Amazon delivery guy just ignored the bright pink notes on the front door that said "Amazon, please ring bell", took a pic of the now delivered package on the stoop and sent that to the app as proof of delivery. He didn't ring the bell, and in the pic you can clearly read the stickers that are on the door maybe 18 inches above where the package is. What the fuck man, it ain't that hard. The USPS, FedEx and UPS guys (the regular ones, a least) always ring the bell and usually wait for us to come to the door before walking away.

Oh for sure. I used to live there and would love to go back, though my wife would never tolerate the heat. Xmas in NOLA was too much for her, so the summer would definitely kill her.

To wfudkn's and Juice's point, sure New Orleans is a much more interesting city, but Vegas has much much nicer resort casinos. If you're getting on a plane to go to New Orleans to gamble and stay at a casino, there's something wrong with you.

we've started to have real issues with package theft from our mailbox (Which is across the street since we're a rural route). had 2 taken in the past couple of weeks, even only a few hours after they've said they were delivered.

thankfully only USPS delivers to the mailbox these days, and those deliveries have been cut down since Amazon now does its own deliveries.

I actually considered proposing New Orleans instead of Vegas. But the more I thought about it, its just easier for us to go to Vegas. Casinos, sports books, bars, etc are just more easily accessible. Sports Gambling is a big part of this trip and we will be giving zero fucks about cultural activities. Plus we all want to go and douche it up at pool party one afternoon.

This same group also went to NOLA for a bachelor party, where I blacked out for approximately 9o% of the trip. I met the boys at Harrahs, was the last one to arrive, so I drank a $25 massive Bacardi 151 mixed drink at the casino and then blackout for most of the next two days. I slept on a couch in the hotel lobby one night and had to be carried to one of our rooms by hotel security. Which I don't remember at all. That was by far the most blackout drunk I've ever been.

I love Vegas but I wont stay longer than one weekend, and I like to center it around an event or big fight.

sounds amazing

Nah it was terrible. Probably why I don't want to go back to New Orleans with this crew. I did attend a wedding/Mardi Gras/Panther SB weekend in Nawlins a few years later that was much memorable. Because I actually remember most of it.
