dont' put a tv above a fireplace

it's tacky and it's bad for your head/neck and it's bad for the TV

agreed that the first few seasons on workaholics were great

got pretty old though

don't think you'll regret the size, brasky, but the placement above the fireplace concerns me

was gonna say this but didn't want to be derogatory

with heat and eye level I tend to avoid over the fireplace placement

no tv in our living room, just a stereo, fireplace, and couch

have really enjoyed it so far

working in my grandad's office for the week and he has a clock with a second hand that ticks

weird choice, grandpa

weird choice, grandpa

this causes me tremendous anxiety

also after taking philosophy of space and time it bugs me to have a ticking clock instead of a smooth motion second hand

My tv is above my fireplace and we haven’t had any issues.

We also don’t use the fireplace though.

Juice, where'd you end up last night? We actually went to The Whale/Haywood Common ourselves.

It is a small electric sheetrock fireplace, which we will rarely use. And above it is the only place we can mount it in the main living area. The fireplace/wall has cabinets on either side and that wall is the dominant wall. The TV would look weird on the others. So if we're gonna mount it, its gotta go there.

A good friend of mine from Winston who lives in Austin now is a Blake (from Workaholics) doppleganger when his hair is grown out. He has a picture with him from SXSW and its wild how much they look alike.

It's very cool and very chill that the IRS just straight up says to not call them, they won't help you with issues on the stimulus check. Those geniuses managed to direct deposit the first two rounds to me, took my tax payment out of my account at the end of February, and yet somehow now they claim through the online portal that they don't have my bank account info and mailed me the check (which I still haven't received). Thankfully my pay hasn't been disrupted at all by covid, but I can't imagine how stressed I'd be if it had and I was planning on using the check to pay rent tomorrow.

This happened to me too. I’m guessing because I didn’t have a refund this year, but I did in 2019 so IRS had direct deposited my refund and then stimulus payments in my account. Had to pay for 2020 so I got a check instead.

we have our bigass tv over our gas fireplace that we use regularly and the mantel successfully blocks heat. cannot opine on tackiness but i like it.

also i'm now envisioning ITC's fireplace as some stone thing with a portrait of an ancestor hanging over it, not sure why
