chipotle raising their prices 4% supposedly to pay workers hmmm

El Vilsito in the Navarte district of Mexico City has the best al pastor tacos I've ever had. The place is an auto repair shop in the day and turns into a super popular local spot at night. Birrieria las Nueve Esquinas in Guadalajara might be the best taco I've ever had, even if they're more known for their birria.

Pastor is probably my favorite kind of taco. I have not been to Mexico in ages. The problem with pastor around here, and you can find some great versions, is that they over spice them. The best ones will have a nice balance with the pineapple. Looks like I am talking fruit now.

Hmmm, I did pay $24.66 for McDonalds last week.

Man I had some great pastor tacos in Mexico City a few years ago. Most places here it seems don’t do the spit roasted style which is a shame. I got a rotisserie for my Joe and I wanna try them soon.

My buddy has a Joe rotisserie for his egg. I think at some point he took the guys if a Joe and put them into his egg.

The basket is great for smoked wings.

Probably not. Bunch of you fuckers used to leave me $1 when I delivered ya pizza on my golf cart.

tipping is an annoying tradition

went to a restaurant in Minneapolis last weekend where they had this big section on the menu talking about how they charge a 21% hospitality fee to eliminate tipping and cover a minimum wage blah blah

great -- I'm a fan -- but then the bill comes and there is a tip line on there in addition to the 21% and a much less direct note about "should you feel a tip is deserved on top of the hospitality fee..." or something

When customers have the feeling that the delivery service is over-priced and they are overwhelmed by all the fees and such, they tip less.

totally

but if I don't tip then the driver doesn't get shit and if I do then I'm overpaying by like 50%

I'm out

I've never used a third-party delivery service that I know of. I've never seen the value - I'd rather pick up sometihng on my way home. Maybe my time just isn't worth that much.

Yeah, I love these because the service charge is always less than what I would normally tip so I get out cheaper and don’t feel bad about it.

Agreed, and that's especially annoying. Had my pinball guy out to fix the machines this past weekend and had to do a split second decision as to whether I tip him, as once you set the precedent you're stuck. Tipped him like $40, so over the course of the lifetime that decision is gonna cost me thousands.

i definitely spend too much on delivery services, it's an area we're trying to cut back on for sure

if you're gonna do it you gotta tip tho, be decent in the small part you play in an exploitive chain

i mean, isn't he a sole proprietor....?

yeah, but there are times where he's moving a 300 pound pinball machine and I'm walking next to him, or I'm doing the like fake help move. It can be awkward

i dunno; this is going to sound shitty but I stopped helping the help when i hire someone to do stuff for exactly this reason.

he's charging for his time to do a professional duty so that you don't have to learn how and do it. if he was an employee, maybe. but c'mon
