No question. Unless you can really bomb it I feel like being able to place a kick serve (especially out wide from ad side) is going to be way more effective than a normal flat serve. I'd much rather play someone that has a pretty big flat serve than someone that has a big kicker.

Idk but it is kind of phony I think.

I'm a "oh cool", "mmhmm" kind of guy and that's about where I'll max out. Once someone is done talking I either ask a questions or say "word".

when i used to do a lot of focus grouping/user testing stuff, i'd get interviews transcribed, and they always transcribed my "mmhmm" as "hmm??" which made for a funny read

One tic it seems Finnish people have is when they’re listening to you talk instead of saying Mhmm, they say Mmm in a sort of disapproving tone. Took me a minute to realize this rather than they were just disagreeing with whatever you say.

like just kinda constant hum of "mmm" "yeah" "aha" -- I think it's cultural, I notice it with some more frequency among non-native English speakers
