Official 2020-21 NBA Finals - Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Championship!

These clippers are pretty unlikable. George forces contact and gets a ton of cheap calls. Beverly gets fewer calls but forces even more contact. Cousins should be punished for shoving Booker after the last shot.

In contrast the suns are the opposite on the likeable scale. Ayton and payne saved chris Paul from himself after needlessly missing these two games.

#HotTakes after being up since 4:30 and watching the second half.

key to that play was using Booker as the screener because Batum cannot leave Booker to help on Ayton

Monty was MONTE in the final minute

Yep. With 0.9 on the clock, the most likely shooter in general for the Suns is going to be Booker. What a great play call by Monty.

Yeah, the Suns just play fun basketball. The move well, they play good defense, and they've go players who all seem to play within their games. Any neutral flipping on a game right now is happy when the Suns are playing. If the NBA marketing machine weren't so star centric in terms of hype, the Suns would be a great team to increase ratings.

Last night was not fun basketball. The shooting down the stretch was just plain awful. The officiating was absolute garbage. I wanted to go to bed but was glad I stayed up because one second of clock time should generally take about 15 minutes. The NBA need to get this flopping and these reviews under control. SOCCER has less flopping and shorter reviews than the NBA now. It's pathetic.

This is fucking ridiculous. Can you imagine what the sports show talking heads would be saying if something like this occurred in a soccer game ?

I had to look it up. Rule 11 (h).

Zubac with the basket interference/goaltend by smacking the rim, then dragging his hand through the net, just mili-second prior to the ball arriving above the rim/in cylinder when Ayton grabbed it. Zubac taps rim, Ayton grabs ball in cylinder and dunks, Zubac drags hand into net.

I think the Clips argued the ball was in the cylinder, so Ayton cannot grab it there and dunk it, it has to be outside the rim. But, just prior to the dunk, Zubac tapped the rim.

Essentially, Crowder's inbound pass, despite the impossible angle, was going right into the basket. If he inbounds it into the hoop, that is not a bucket, but do the Clips get the ball out of bounds if it just goes in?

And yes, Beverly is going to really injure someone for life. He needs to be suspended indefinitely. That's not hustle, it's dirty. He nearly wrecked Westbrook a few years ago. His whole "dawg" thing during timeouts just screams "been hit in the head too many times/CTE." Not a fan.

Yeah Pat Bev is one of my least favorite players in the league. Hopefully they take a closer look at the play from last night. Also, Cousins needs to be fines or suspended for shoving Book after the game.

If the NBA is going to continue this review process fiasco in the last two minutes, then they need to reduce the number of actual timeouts a team gets. Not only is it brutal to watch, but there is no reason for a team to get 4 fourth-quarter timeouts in addition to reviewing every play in the last 2 minutes. It has gotten as bad as the NFL in terms of watchability with all of the breaks.

Beverley is awful. And even worse was Mark Jackson raving about his ENERGY. Dude is just a fucking goon.

but money though

That was ridiculous. I was watching the 4th quarter early this a.m. on the replay, and there was way more commercial time than game footage. The other issue that 1 of the announcers pointed out was the replay overturn when the ball was knocked away from a Sun dribbling it - think it was Booker. Same think happened in UVA's natty in OT when I think Jerome knocked the ball away from a TT player. For the first 46:00 of a game, that will always be called off the defender. But when you slow it down to the microsecond, you can see that it actually was off the ball handler last. Replay made that last minute maddening.

Before this season, I hadn't watched a Suns game in probably 15-20 years, though I've laughed plenty at Barkley making fun of how bad they've been. This is really a fun team now, and Booker is money. With CP3 returning and Kawhi not, this should be over quickly. Trouble is they could have a long layoff till they play Mil/Atl.

I agree with much of this post, but "the shooting down the stretch was just plain awful" is wrong

JvG said during the broadcast that there is no offensive goaltending on an inbound play -- don't know if that's true or not, but sounds plauisble

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't hate Bevo -- he's one of the only guys on the Clips that has any personality and it's fun to have villains

don't know if he's actually any good, but I do think he works hard

Why did we never see a slow-motion replay of the out of bounds call that led to the amazing finish? The call was probably correct but it was a weird broadcasting decision not to show that one in slo-mo from the baseline, given how scrutinized the previous OOB call was.

irrespective of replay, I think 7 timeouts per game is way too many

four feels appropriate, make them really count -- NBA may be on board too since giving up those commercial slots and ad revenue isn't much concern

No points were scored from 5:39 to 2:57. Eight straight missed shots. None.

So you're right in that 12 shots were made the rest of the way.

yeah, if that last OOB play was the only replay, I'd have been happy with its use

all the other ones, especially the Booker one, were terrible

and kill the challenge -- the way it is administered is awful
