The OSS psychological profile of Hitler described his use of the big lie:
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it.
Goebbels did describe the big lie in different language in an article he wrote in 1941, “Churchill’s Lie Factory,” but he was accusing the British of the ploy:
The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.
Randall Bytwerk argues that neither Hitler nor Goebbels would admit to lying. Goebbels, “always maintained that propaganda had to be truthful. That doesn’t mean he didn’t lie, but it would be a pretty poor propagandist who publicly proclaimed that he was going to lie.”

That's quite the article. Even more telling are the sentences before that one: "Whatever good was present at the Ossossané ossuary—where those who had not yet encountered the fullness of Truth honored their dead as best they knew how—is increased a thousandfold in the cemeteries of the residential schools, where baptized Christians were given Christian burials. Whatever natural good was present in the piety and community of the pagan past is an infinitesimal fraction of the grace rendered unto those pagans’ descendants who have been received into the Church of Christ."

So basically, as long as these pagan Indians were Christianized by these noble missionaries, whatever sufferings and destruction they experienced was all worth it. And besides, the real problem wasn't with the missionaries, it was with the secular Canadian government. Projection and rationalizing all in one package - how very efficient for the writer of the article.

What if certain unfortunate ‘accidents’, and infamous assassinations ‘by lone gunmen’, that we’ve all heard about
over the years, were really vicious deliberately staged events devised to benefit the Left?

…has been accelerating down that path for some time…enabled by complicit Republicans who long ago traded truth for mis/disinformed power mongering. If this wasn’t so, Trump would have never been so easily able to take control of the party.
