so the in-laws came yesterday to celebrate my fnl's birthday. the same b-day that they insisted a big family party happen this summer. they demanded all the kids gather together and pay the costs which left two of the four siblings unable to help much financially. go us! so we celebrate again by buying them dinner. i may or may not have spent the evening edibled up. now today i rearrange my work schedule to take them to the airport. i've been in my basement office all day listening to them blast tv land cowboy shows or something. i told them i could take them a 4. now they are upstairs talking about leaving at 3:30 but have not mentioned that to me. we are currently in a stand off. i can take them now. if they have the curtesy to ask. otherwise we go at the original ask time. its been a long 24 hours.

I’m concerned that people care that much about their own birthday

What's the trick to doing rental cars/get the most loyalty/bang for the buck? Got a trip to Portland planned next month. Got the business class seats for points, getting like half off on the hotel by using the annual amex platinum $200/credit + $100 of free stuff.... but now I'm trying to get a rental car for 3 days and it's like $700

the official (ten years ago) Biscuitville power rankings in winston

1. Robinhood
2. University

3. Reynolda

4. Silas Creek/Peter's Creek

assuming you ordered from the poverty location, smh

the one on robinhood was my daily breakfast for more or less all four years of hs, the trick is always getting eggs scrambled instead of fried

BEC with scrambled eggs, PAPAS and sweet tea >>>>>>>>>

The massive, greasy country ham biscuit at Sherwood Barbecue dominated anything Biscuitville or Bojangles put out. RIP. Now its fucking State Farm Insurance agent. Irritates me every time I drive by it.

You have no idea. At family gatherings they'll celebrate all the "close birthdays" IF they can shoehorn his birthday in. 4 years ago at the family beach house, in June, they celebrated his October birthday. I don't get it.

Looking Like Turo is absolutely the best bet here, anyone use that much, we did once here in LA and it seemed fine, but don't know about getting to/from airport

Hey Townie I’m reading my first Joe Hill novel and it’s pretty solid.

And creamy I’m nowhere near agile enough to get more than 2 obstacles in on the ninja warrior course.

Rolled an 11 on my survival check. Fortunately they were too focused on the food at their last Navy reunion party two years ago to end me.

what the hell does this mean

just get 20 ubers

This is too much. Might as well celebrate it every month if you're celebrating four months early. I might be in the minority and hate celebrating my birthday, but I can't imagine how self-absorbed somebody must be if they want it to be celebrated four months early.

Watching American Ninja Warrior and it got me thinking about Mako. Is there anyone on these boards who believe in their ability to be a strong ANW contender?

I am not that familiar with ANW. I did not want to get into it on the rj ban thread but I have done the Murph in under 60 minutes. Too bad I did not get DG to pay up $10K for it.

I like to swear off things, so hopefully you have already sworn off any possible dealings with State Farm because of TheReff but if not add it to the pile.

I rented an Aston Martin on Turo for my anniversary trip to an Inn a couple months ago and it was amazing. But it was more like air bnb rather than a service in that I had to pick it up at a garage in VA than it being delivered to me.

Ha wonder if it was my old landlords’. They moved to VA and owned some baller cars. They had a 2-car garage and rotated between there and their place in St. Michael’s. They had an Aston (which they upgraded during our 3 years living there), Tesla, Range Rover, and a really well-maintained vintage Mercedes convertible.

Hahaha. It has to be. The other two cars she has on Turo are a Tesla and a RR. Asian lady?
