This is crazy. Dave Chappelle was one of the most popular people on the planet to highschool kids when we were coming up.

We used to walk around all day quoting Killin them softly. And pretty much everything in his show. Man, he's a top-5 human of all time for me. Love the guy.

wouldn't it only be virtue signaling if she didn't actually believe in promoting good health as a virtue

if Dave Chappelle is a top-5 human for you where do you rank him and who are the other four

Just finished my annual self-review by the 10/29 deadline. These people really don’t understand how calendars work.

Working on mine now.

So dumb. Submit 10/29, talk about it just before Thanksgiving, but final numbers for the year won't be known until 12/31.

Hold on....what....?

Prince died a few years ago. They've probably heard 1999 and many of his other hits before.

For those of you in your early to mid-30s, how many of you had heard about Richard Pryor before he died? Trying to come up with a good relative comp for Chappelle.

These Prince takes make me think y’all don’t listen to much Prince.

Dude is the GOAT. On the court, off the court, as a musician, as a songwriter, as an advocate in an exploitative industry, etc.

Michael Jackson or the Mountain Goats or whoever y’all stan would probably agree as much fwiw

Then it just always ends up being [XYZ Group] had a [good/bad] year and you got [good/bad] bonus accordingly.

I'm 36 and definitely heard about him and watched his stuff. But I used to listen to the comedy stations on XM a lot in college and watched a lot of Comedy Central where they would do like best standups of all time countdowns and such.

That's a good point. Media was much more centralized. If high school and college kids grew up with only Comedy Central as their source of comedy, they'd know Chappelle from reruns. But instead they have pretty much anything anybody wants to come up with at their disposal.
