JH is advocating for the same system as the one that might put a 2-loss Bama team in over an undefeated Wake.

Wake fans are getting a lesson in systemic bias, but they aren't ready for that.

rj said it a lot. it's in reference to some presidential debate, right? Mondale?

Reagan to Carter.

I was talking about fans of undefeated LOWF not the 4-4 offseason champs.

Oh, so just to be clear not the Big Horn Sheeps? If anything, there is bias in favor of the Big Horned Sheeps, like the GOP.

yeah if those Big Horned Sheep were undefeated on the exact same resume as Wake they would be in the top 4 right now. But like all good Republicans, they (Mack) blames the media bias for their issues.

Your analogy isn't that far off. You're talking about national championships in revenue sports and you don't know the first thing about the subject.

That and 400 continuous years of history to corroborate my belief.

lol so you’re saying that 400 year old local political decisions of slave owners and land barons have been repeated over and over again in such a manner that modern day people are affected by those 400 year old decisions? And that despite knowing that the people who made those original decisions held beliefs we now condemn, we still knowingly uphold those decisions today? Oh wow. We should teach that in school somehow.

I'm guessing you don't make your living by reading comprehension. They did teach that in school. You must have missed that day.

When people behave the same way for 400 years in a row, we should probably take that into account in how they might behave next year.

FWIW, Wake rolls tomorrow. I've watched most of each game for both teams, and Wake is just nastier. Special season for the Deacs. I genuinely hope you guys make the most of it.

Nice dodge there using the term “behavior”. I assure you that congressional redistricting is a conscious political act done knowingly and strategically, it’s not innate behavior nor is completed unconsciously.

When you and I *agree* that North Carolinians have agreed upon congressional districting for hundreds of years, we are agreeing that they have maintained the same biases and motivations to keep making the same decisions.

The guarantee is you get a map that is determined by transparent objectives and not human biases. I don't think anyone is saying that the objective is political balance, they are citing the imbalanced results (or really, results that do not reflect the electorate) as evidence that the inputs are biased.

TBF any computer program written by humans may have human biases.

Sure. Which is why it’s necessary not to select the biases like geographical proximity.

So…all computer programs are biased in some way to some degree due to the requirement of their human creation…?

Ho boy…y’all are dangerously close to critical computational theory or some sech offensive elitist gibberish.

Is this where we talk about Biden’s 38 percent approval rating? I’ve been off the tunnels a while
