Official 2021 College Football Thread: Grass Picker Named to CFP Selection Committee!

So Michigan is going to move up from #5, possibly all the way to #2 if Alabama loses. Oklahoma State could move into the top 4 if they win tonight too.

Might have been an offensive PI there but never gonna get called

Auburn isnt going to be able to score. This might be over

This 3rd+ OT rule is garbage. Way too much luck for a single play. What was wrong with the previous rules? Seemed to work out well, and even a model for what NFL should adopt.

I’d rather them move it to the 10 yard line and give them first and goal starting in the 3rd OT.

A&M and LSU happened

But I agree with you on the whole

This was my first time seeing the 3rd OT. It's a silly exercise, especially changing sides of the field and taking an end of quarter break at the end of each OT.

The big problem with the old system is that starting from the 25 guarantees a reasonable FG try, so near guaranteed points. A team can just take 3 points on 4th and 10 and hold the other team on 3rd and goal and make it to the next OT. That's not fair.

I'd rather see alternating possessions from the 50. Teams have to move the ball to score. It should result in fewer OT periods.

We would still be playing vs VT...

Yeah first and goal at the 50 could result in even longer games against exhausted defenses. Make it first and goal at the 10 with no kicks.
