Nebraska would be in favor because they might win a game.
I'm not sure that adding Notre Dame creates enough additional value for the Big Ten to justify adding them - the conference already pays out $54.3M to each school compared to the $37M that the ACC pays out. The Big Ten would presumably want ND along with another school to maintain divisional balance, but who else would you poach that could cover that?
This can't be serious
The math isn't that crazy. The big issues are that the B1G payout is already pretty high and that they would want to add another school in addition to ND to keep the divisions balanced.
Assuming current $54.3 million payouts to member schools and that the B1G would have to add another school in addition to ND, those two schools would need to drive at least an additional $108.6 million into the pot that gets split up to maintain current payout levels. ND would do its share. Realistically, the other school poached would need to be someone like UNC.
TL;DR Rutgers hopped on the gravy train at the right time.
Kansas, who will desert the Big 12 at the drop of a hat.

Not to mention you went from drivable distance of most of your conference to an expensive flight (or multiple flights) to a town in the middle of nowhere USA. These moves are not for the fans and are a detriment to the fans.

Doesn't fit the Big 10 academic profile.
Maryland and Rutgers traded whatever relevance they had in football for money. If you are a fan, I’m not really sure what good that does you. Stadium upgrades for a team you don’t really want to watch? Can’t be fun when half your home games are getting stomped by michigan, Ohio state, MSU and penn state.
I would take Maryland back in the ACC tomorrow.
Kansas to the Big 10(11, 12, 13?)
Doesn't fit the Big 10 academic profile.
UMCP's record against its East Division 'rivals' since joining the B1G:
Penn State 2-6
Michigan 1-6
Michigan State 1-6
Ohio State 0-7
