Wake Forest Football Recruiting

I feel pretty good about Grimes.

Would be brutal to lose both our 4 star kids coming off a 10 win season.
 
I’m not sure he’s opening up his recruitment as that means he would de commit from us. But obviously you’d rather have him sign on Wednesday.

New coaches at two of his final five schools and he didn’t get to take any official visits because his school won the state championship and had their last game yesterday.
 
Maybe he really does just want to do his diligence and be really certain about his decision. Definitely a curious development given our record setting offense, 10 win season, championship game appearance, Clawson extension and new facilities investment. Should be a really exciting time to join the program.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him staying in state, but I would love to be wrong.

Grimes tweeted a #GoDeacs announcing his signing ceremony, so I think we held off the wolves there.

The article did not say opening up recruitment it just said postponing signing.
 
Or is it a distinction without a difference? Genuine question as I don’t know the situation.
 
He just posted a twitter of him with wake coaching staff referring to them as his future coaches on an in home.
 
Maybe he wants to sign on someone's special day? Like a mom's bday or something? Otherwise, if he is ALL IN, I don't understand postponing anything.
 
HE JUST ANNOUNCED HE'S SIGNING WITH THE DEACS WEDNESDAY AFTER SLEEPING ON IT A NIGHT. WE DON'T HAVE TO STRESS UNTIL FEB. BIG TIME NEWS
 
I hope Clawson and company stop at Starbucks on the way home to get themselves a well deserved coffee!!!
 
Whatever transpired over night gives me a big bode of confidence that the staff is, and have been adapting to the times. I'll leave it at that.

Agreed. We have a long history of losing guys like Grimes and Claiborne when the sharks start circling. Hanging on to guys like this bodes well for the future.
