WFU Hoops: '21-'22 Roster Construction Thread: +LaRavia/Taylor/Walton/Monsanto/Williams/Sy/Marsh

He kissed their ass during our broadcast last week. “Valued TV partner” or something like that. Gotta do that on air though. Not sure what the other TV. option is since the league is stuck with ESPN. I guess we could get a ACCN alternate broadcast. Other than that, it’s just straight up ESPN3 (ACCNX). I’d love to get a game of the week on CBS or NBC but I doubt it.

The new college basketball landscape is pretty incredible. A guy none of us had heard of 7 months ago just got the first Wake triple double since Tim Duncan.

Bally is on Spectrum cable in NC and probably most cable systems in the SE

Sure but plenty of people don’t have cable anymore.

And it’s pretty confusing when people check multiple sources to find out who’s broadcasting a game and they all say some version of accnx which is supposedly viewable via ESPN app (ESPN +) but when it’s actually blacked out on ESPN because…SURPRISE…it’s on Bally.

If you’re lucky enough to figure it out.

I was pleasantly surprised to watch a replay of the Deacon-Upstate basketball game on ESPN3/ACCN tonight. The game and replay have been blacked out by Spectrum when they are on Bally. Might have something to do with the fact that Spectrum was down for 44 hours due to damage inflicted by tornados in Kentucky.

I’m in Winston. I have the most basic tier of Spectrum and was able to watch the game.

I have Spectrum and have never had an issue watching games on Bally or replays online.

The WF website, tweets, etc never say this unless it’s actually only on ACCNX. It will say Regional Sports Networks.

on comcast at least, the game was originally on programming from 2-4 pm on MASN. at 7PM, while the game was airing on MASN2 channel guide listed WPT Sunshine Shootout. i randomly found that it was on.
maybe the tipoff change screwed programming up for several outlets

Poorly worded post by me. I have Spectrum for internet but stream YouTube TV. Made the change from Spectrum cable to YTTV to get the ACC network when offered. YTTV also had Fox sports south at that time but it was discontinued. Spectrum has blacked out any broadcast of Bally televised games or their replay on ESPN3 or ACCN. I could return to Spectrum cable and receive Bally and the ACC network for an extra $90/month. That would eliminate YTTV service I presently provide to two family members at no additional cost. No thanks.

Well YTTV is about to lose ESPN too. Not to mention I switched from YTTV to Spectrum and it is about $7 more a month.

At some point, Bally and Spectrum will have a contract dispute, likely not until it is up for renewal which could be years. I've had DirecTV, Dish Network and now Hulu Live. I've dealt with some type of channel contract dispute with every provider for over 20 years now. It just sucks shit like this can take months or years to finalize.

I use Hulu for the bulk of my atavistic watching. Because I use Spectrum for internet, the cost for that very basic tier is very small. (I call the tier “The channels I got as a kid.”) I checked one time, and I basically wouldn’t save any money by dropping those channels.

So no, I’m not paying an extra $90 a month for that access.

I could not get the game on my YTTV app. At halftime I checked the score on my espn app and clicked the watch button. It asked for my TV provider. I used YTTV and fully expected it to not work, but it did.

Shit that’s amazing. Pilch is the main character of wake Twitter for the day
