Official 2021-22 NBA Offseason Thread - Warriors extend Poole and Wiggins

Maybe kawhi and his uncle show up if he's traded to Philly.

Official 2021-22 NBA Season Thread - Hawks trade Reddish to the Knicks

I’ve read and listened to several discussions about Simmons’ fit and nobody seems to have any good idea and what his ideal situation would be.

Part of it is because it’s hard to tell what his game would be and how teams would attack him now that he’s been exposed.

I just wanna see him be Boris Diaw on the Suns

Part of it is there are plenty of archetypes Simmons could be but is he willing to be them.

if you think about it - the process was full of awful, awful, awful draft picks:

2013: #11 Michael Carter-Williams
2013: Traded Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel (#6 pick)
2014: #3 Embiid
2014: #10 Elfrid Payton and traded for Saric (Ok, I guess?)
2015: #3 Okafor
2016: #1 Ben Simmons (Colangelo pick)
2017: #1 Fultz (Colangelo pick)
2018: #10 Bridges and traded for Zhaire Smith (LOL!)

Although none of those picks seemed awful at the time - but it took 5 tries at top 5 picks to get one consistent all nba caliber player

Are you all watching Jokic vs. the Clips right now? Good Lord. Jokic with 49/14/10/3/1 including a game-winning cross-court assist to Aaron Gordon for a 3. 16-25 fg, 14-16 ft, 3-5 3pt. Crazy finish. Gordon hit the three to beat the shot clock with 1.7 sec left and a player came off the Nuggets bench to celebrate even though there was no timeout. Refs didn't call anything. Lue drew up a play and Jackson clanked it from halfcourt.

Just saw some other big man had 50/12/2/1/3 tonight. That's pretty good.

I think a place like Sacramento or Orlando would be great for him. Surround him with shooting and push the ball in transition. Don't make him shoot jumpers. Let him be a destroyer on D (which he already is).

A team like that can make the playoffs. That's (obviously) a huge win for either one of those 2 teams. They won't be championship contenders, but not every team (or every player) can reach those heights.

Ish Smith is in his 12th NBA season.

Other than Muggsy, Duncan, and CP3, has any other Deacon had a longer NBA career ?

Josh Howard was only 10.

Frank Johnson was only 10 (with three years in Europe sandwiched).

Al-Farouq is on season #11.

Yeah, I was editing while you were posting. My son wore his Bogues Hornets jersey to the game two weeks ago.

But to be fair, it's not like anyone ever thought Simmons could shoot, including Simmons himself. He is the same player he has always been, the only exposing was to people who didn't understand that he is not a PG in today's NBA. That part I guess was somehow not apparent to some people from the beginning, including Simmons himself. That isn't so much him being exposed as it is others admitting an obvious mistake.

Back to the Hornets' defense and previous lack thereof. Over the last 7 games (6-1) they are #3 in the NBA in defense. They are still the #2 overall offense, tops in the East. They seem to be buying in as they see the results. Hopefully they can keep it up, not many teams are as deep as they are, especially with young talent. They are on track to be the first team since 1967 to have 5 guys average over 16.5 points per game. Oubre came in the game last night and basically made Tatum his bitch. I kind of hope both LaMelo and Bridges don't make the All-Star game, as whichever is left out will take it out on the rest of the league.
