Yeah but also all the snow at the last two winter Olympics has been either trucked in or man-made or a combination of both. Nothing new, sadly.

Weird. That’s different than what I read earlier today. I read the film was just Snow White and they were using seven “magical creatures” not dwarfs.

Curious what they actually end up doing. Dinklage may have pushed seven dwarf actors out of a high profile job.

Snow White is one of the few Disney films we didn’t watch when my kids were little so I have no idea how it might translate for better or worse.
 
Witcher has dwarfs in it; Lord of the Rings has will have dwarves.

seems more like a moment of frustration than a thought-out complaint or arg

It sounds like he's frustrated not about the presence of dwarves, but the way they are portrayed in the Snow White story (outcasts from society, living in a cave together, stereotyped by certain characteristics). In LOTR they are proud warriors, not Dopey and Sleepy.

Well considering they have the girl who played Maria in West Side Story playing a character whose name is Snow White due to her skin being white as snow, perhaps they will have the dwarves played by former NBA all-stars. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as Doc? Boban Marjanovic as Dopey?

grimm's does indeed have them in a cottage. alternate central european tellings have a cave

i'm also pretty sure the original version did not use 7 stereotypes; just magical gnomes/dwarves
 
was he privy to some casting/script conversations that we're not aware of where disney was sticking with some kind of offensive representation?
